August Vacation

My family is planning a trip to Disney Aug 20-29. We will be in Universal from 20-23 checking in Carribean Beach on the 23rd. Has anyone gone this week and how are the crowds. Some boards say its value season - some say its moderate and crowded. Help!!!

All I know is that it's HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!! (and humid!) so you won't be seeing me there in August (been there, done that).

Have a good time anyway and drink plenty of fluids.

I found my favorite WDW trip ever was around late August. It was not crowded at all. If you can deal with the heat and humidity, it's a great time to go.

Thanks for the information and your pictures are wonderful! Im not to worried about the heat - looking foward to it actually! Since your in OH you know what I mean!!!! I would love to stay in WL but unless prices drop - its not feasible for me.....

Well, we went from 8/23 to 8/30 last summer and I was a little disappointed. The crowds were average, but the park hours stunk. We're used to doing mid-July when park hours are long, and it was a little depressing not being able to do the MK after dark.

The rates were cheaper, but I've learned that a little extra for a room would be a good trade off for longer hours.
