August Trip

Well i am new to this board but not new to disney. I live in southern california and hold an annual pass to disney here. However i thought it would be awesome to take my girlfriend to disneyworld as she has never been. So i booked a trip for aug as this is our only free month. We will be driving from southern california across the country. So far we have booked 6 nights a POFQ followed by 6 nights at the contemp. with theme park and lounge level. We are also going to visit other non disney attractions while we are there. 35 days till we leave.

Have a great trip. How long of a drive will it be for you? One year we drove. It wasn't bad but my dh only stopped for gas so if you weren't awake to use the restroom you had to wait until the next gas stop. Lucky for me my children have bladders of steal.
Have you decided which days you will be in the disney parks? Have you made any dining reservations for places that you want to have sit down meals at? That is something you will want to do asap as they fill up quick.

thanks. the drive will be about 2500 miles. we will make 2 stops along the way there to sleep a couple nights. as for the parks we will have 10 day tickets with the park hopper option and water park option so visiting the parks when we feel like. we do have a plan to visit sea world one day as well and maybe take a drive around the state. we have a few ressies for food as well thank you.

hey. that is awesome. i visited to contemporary when i was smaller and enjoyedx it very much. disney has changed a bit since i last have been there so this trip will be fun. we will be there from aug 6 thru aug 18. the first 6 nights are at pofq and the second six are at the cr. it will be a blast.

Boy! Can I be your friend?!! I am a Cali girl too, but live in Wisc now,so it's cheaper to fly to WDW. We will be in Fl. in Aug for two weeks, doing Tampa, Universal and Disney. Hope the drive goes well for you, sounds like an amazing girls trip!!

where at in california did you live. the company i work for many people start out working in our california building but then move back to our wisc building. it wasnt so much about the price of flying, is getting my girlfriend to see many parts of the country outside of the west coast.

I am in Mass. and wish I had the guts to drive to Disney(I'm a bonified chicken, won't even drive to boston) so needless to say I admire you!
I'll be there in aug with my 3 teens. Its CSR for us. 8 glorious days. We are all very excited. Is your girlfriend excited about the trip or is she dreading all the miles?

disney is awesome. i wish we had half the stuff at disneyland that disney world has. i hear you about driving in boston or any major city int he north east. the miles are no big deal but since i live in so cal i think the speed outside of the state will be a problem. here we can drive 80-95 mph on the freeway and that is the flow of traffic. in any other state if you travel 4 mph over seems like you get a ticket. as for the girlfriend she will probably be sleeping or reading or watching a movie who knows. she is not dreading it she is looking forward to getting out of california for a while. have fun on your trip and you will enjoy disney. plan to stay an extra 1-2 nights as you will not want to leave. there is so mich to do.
