August trip, so tell me....

I second take double the underware cause everything just is damp. I ended up doing laundry which cost me $8 for one load to wash and dry. But then I didn't bring my own detergent.

I took freezer ziplock bags - tripled bagged a resort washcloth with ice cubes and it went into my small backpack - it was so nice to take the cool cloth out and wipe my face, neck, etc. Supposedly any drink vendor in the parks will give you ice water in a cup so you can dump the ice-turned-to-water on the plants and put ice back into the ziplock bags. NOTE: get the expensive actual ziplock ones - that way you can make sure it won't leak or come a part.

I took far more breaks, walked a bit slower and drank tons of water. As a result I actually noticed wonderful shrub flowers and actually live little geckos that I usually miss cause I'm rushing here or there.

Definitely take breaks in ac restaurants, shows. I actually sat between the big Disney store and a restaurant at Epcot and got a nice ac breeze everytime someone entered or left the Disney store!

Anytime at Disney is the greatest even in the heat!!! :stitch:

I packed a frozen washcloth. We also used a bandana and wet it at drinking fountains and put it on the kids' necks to cool them down. Cheap umbrella stroller with sunshade sure helped when our youngest was 4. I carried a water bottle, started out with it frozen and then kept refilling it. To keep it from sweating in my backpack I slipped my son's clean white tube sock on it right before we left our room. Worked like a charm and I have been using that trick for 8 years now. We also did alot of air conditioned attractions in between rides. A good way to cool off is to jump on the train, our daughter took a nice cool nap that way, and I got to see stuff rather than sit on a bench the whole time. We did not leave the park during the day, we just slowed down alot in the afternoon. We found that we drank alot but weren't very hungry and ate pretty light due to the heat. We also experieced alot of heavy smoke one day due to bad forest fires nearby. That was kind of scary!
