It is now definite - we are going to WDW next August :)

We plan to fly Virgin from Gatport Airwick and stay on-site for 14 nights (may be all at POR or split between AS and POR depending on AP discounts etc.). Likely dates are 10th - 24th August.

So I'm now moving into full, all-out military planning mode :bounce:

I'm so excited I could wee meself :)

LOL Tim :D ! Great news :D ! Nothing like having a countdown!
Is this your anniversary present to yourselves?

LOL - standing by with bucket, Captain Tim;)

We're getting excited for you too :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

That's great Tim :D

So will you be booking flights separately, or a flydrive with Virgin Holidays? I'm sure you will make a great saving buying Annual Passes and booking rooms yourself.

It's nice to have something on the horizon isn't it?

Have Fun Planning! :D

Tim

Your plans sound similar to what I had in mind cept we shall be flying from Manchester. We have booked a package deal in the past - does booking flights and accommodation separately in this way save you much money? When do you book? And do you get the Unlimited passes included?

Thanks,
Sue.

As we are staying at WDW for 14 nights it's cheaper to get Annual Passes rather than UMPS. If you book a package from the UK you are forced to have the UMP!

AP = $354 (with Disney Club discount)
UMP for 14 nights = over $454 !!

Also with an AP you can get very good discounts on accommodation - around 30% depending on time of year and resort.

We are booking the rooms very soon - through Dreams Unlimited (associated with this site) - they will check the available discounts and apply them to our booking so we get the best deal :)

As we are not having a fly-drive we have to wait to book our flights - think 336 days before departure.

Doesn't life seem better when you've got a trip to plan/look forward to? Dh and I were only saying the other day that we need to think about booking something soon - now that our trip is so close (less than 8 weeks! :Pinkbounc ) we're dreading that empty feeling when we get back! The planning and anticipation is almost as much fun as the trip itself!

I'll be really interested to hear how Dreams work out. What are you intending to do, just book the rooms without the discount and then let them apply any that materialise between now and your trip?

Hi Deb,

Yes you book the room with Dreams and your personal consultant then keeps checking for AP and other discount codes that become available, they then transfer you booking using the discount codes - that's what it says on the Dreams website anyway :)
