We have booked a trip for Aug 8th - 17th :cool1:

What is the best rate / company that you booked for your August trip?

Thanks!

I have checked a number of sites and for our rental the first week of August I found Avis using code K199060 (which is a mousesavers code for florida tourism) was the best. On top of that code you can enter a coupon also. Avis has a 35.00 off a weekly rental coupon code of MUWA003 you can use and at time of rental they will subtract an additional 35.00. When you complete your rental it will say your coupon is to be subtracted at time of payment. Hope this helps in your search to find the best bargain.

THANKS!
Worked for me in Nov. Intermediate for 226-35(coupon)for the week. Best I've been able to find. Where did the coupon come from? Do I need to hand it in?

Hi,
I am also wondering where the Avis Awd - K199060 code came from. I know it was from mousesavers, but where does it originate from? Does anyone have a link to a website so it can be or printed out for proof at the counter?
With all the "questionable" codes flying around, I am nervous about using any codes. It is very tempting to use one of those "questionable" codes, but I am not going down that road. Not the best way to start off your vacation, when you get turned down for a rental car and have to pay walk in rates, yikes!
This Avis "K" code sounds as good as any "questionable" ones I have seen. Even better when you add the $35. off weekly MUWA003 code (from Avis website). If anyone has proof its legit (K199060), I would feel better about it !!!
I was trying to stick with National, because of the Emerald Club, and only because of the second driver free upgrade, but they are $$$ for August.
I just reserved through Avis when I found out this little bit of info hidden deep within the Avis website. Spouses can drive as a second driver free with Avis.......they dont even have to be listed on the contract.
Here it is, right from the Avis website............

"The following individuals, if 25 years of age or older and in possession of a valid driver's license, may drive the car with the renter's prior permission:
Renter's employer (while on company business);
Renter's fellow employee (while on company business)
Renter's spouse or life partner.
The above additional drivers are considered "authorized drivers" and need not be present at the time of rental, nor do they need to sign an additional driver form.
The following are exempt from additional driver charges:
renter's employer or regular fellow employee when on company business
renter's spouse or domestic partner
disabled renters who have completed the non-licensed renter form
If 25 or older, the renter's employer or fellow employee (while on company business) or the renter's spouse may drive the car with the renter's permission. They need not be present at the time of rental to provide credit identification or to sign an additional driver form."

That helps with my decision to go with Avis.
Hope this info will help anyone considering renting from Avis but was hesitant because of paying extra for a spouse driver.

Later..........Syndrome

Don,
The coupon comes directly from a special advertised on their website. When you go to the website click on specials. You will find a 35.00 weekly rental special. When you click on that it gives you the coupon code to use. If your worried I would print that page (I am) and take it with you. Hope this helps.

The Avis rate for a compact came up $26 dollars cheaper than National if I use the compact - for the intermediate like National it comes out the same.

Thank you for reporting this option! Not sure which we'll choose as National is just so easy to deal with - no line - but at 8pm at night would there really be a line.....

We booked a midsize for 8 days through Advantage for $187 (tax incl). It's offsite but we have used them once before and had no problems...I was hoping to switch to something in the terminal but I can't find anything reasonable.

:scared1: I reserved something thru a Costco discount back in May for 3 1/2 days in late August (for when we go to Vero Beach for 3 nights). At the time it was the best deal I could find but I still thought it was high @ $167 for a "fullsize". I figured by now I might find a better deal....but NOOO!! Everything I've looked at is at least about $100 more!! I'm shocked! Really. I just now looked thru Costco again & tried the var. links & codes on the Mousesavers website & pretty much everything is about $267ish for the same rental.:scared: Since we're staying at BCV for the week before I wanted to go to a rental agency on Disney property that would have a shuttle to pick us up (ie use Alamo or National thru the Car Care Center). These rates are insane!! (DVC & AP discounts are no better...)
