I did it! :cool1: A genuine not-a-penny-spent day!

It was really, really hard! I ran out of soda at the office, but instead of running out for more, I made a pitcher of ice tea in the kitchenette with stuff I already had... then that ran out, so I switched to Crystal Light, which I also already had. I made pb toast for breakfast and had leftovers for lunch, then we came home to dinner in the crockpot. Knowing that dinner was waiting made it easier to not stop for snacks on the way home-- and knowing that I was in the running for a spend-free day helped me not do any other shopping...

... today, alas, there are many things that need buying and doing that will lead me along the path of temptation... not predicting a $0 day, or even a $0-on-non-necessities day... :guilty:

We are going on our first trip to WDW with our twins in a week and I am so tired of shopping for stuff for the trip! I saved a lot of $$$ for the trip though so I won't have to watch every penny while there.

Sorry for my absence! I've been really wrapped up in the whole, "read everything ever written about weddings" mode. I've found some great sites and have learned a lot. Also need to start a PTR for my Disneymoon next year.

On Saturday, we went to ribfest where I treated him. On Sunday, I bought some cake decorating supplies from Michael's. His birthday is coming up and I want to make him a really special cake. On Monday, I again treated him to lunch. On Tuesday, I bought some groceries to make us dinner. Yesterday was finally a $0 day. Long weekends are dangerous!

Yahoo almost another week down and I have not spent anything outside of what has been planned. I have been tempted but had to find something to keep myself busy so I would not make the dreaded Target visit! That store is evil I tell you. :rotfl:

I was able to send an extra $100 to credit card because I didn't blow a bunch of money on things we didn't need!

I'm with you on that one! Lately I've been shopping the back to school sales - problem is I don't have DDs list yet, and probably won't until after Labor Day! (We are in one of the few late start school districts left I think.) I now have a table full of supplies, and I probably won't need half (or more) of them....But at least I've kept all the receipts and I will return some of it - but I admit I'll keep some of it too, even if we don't need it, "because it was SUCH a good deal and we'll need it EVENTUALLY". :rotfl:

And now the tracking...

Zhoen, I can't believe you found all that cash! The most I've found is $100. Wow....2K.

Yesterday was another $0 day. I'm not sure what I'll be doing tonight, but I'll try hard to get another $0 day!

I'm leaving for Salt Lake City at the end of next week for a convention, I've already taken out a budget for my trip there and hope to stay under it!

I watched my last months expenses without posting them on here. Seeing everyone posting made me count up my Starbucks/eating out costs. It was really bad in June and the months prior to that. However, I finished up August with about 12 Starbucks trips TOTAL instead of about 4 or 5 a week. I was eating out Breakfast and lunch during the week. It added up to about $8-10 breakfast, and $7-13 lunch meals daily. Now I'm only eating out about 5 times a week. So, HUGE HUGE improvement. For a week of groceries its costing me only $80-90 /week. I'm not going to stop going out to eat. It's just nice to see I can buy 7 days worth of food for the cost of 10 meals out.

And as far as the cashews - well, that old craving got me again. But they weren't as good to me as they usually are - maybe I'm moving past that craving finally :rolleyes1
8/10/12 - $11.71 McDonald's dinner. It was too dang hot to cook today! Looks like we topped out at 103... :cool2:

I'm trying to get back on the wagon after a less than stellular week last week. At least the heat is keeping me from venturing out too much...we've had 5 straight days of over 100 (currently sitting at 102 :headache:), and we're due to keep hitting 100+ for at least the next two days. They are saying it'll be 106 tomorrow - ugh!!!

Have met my goal so far this month.

Groceries this week: Budget - 140, Actual 130
Gas this week: Budget 100, Actual, 100
Family Entertainment: Budget for month 300, took out 100 to cover cost of oil change and Hunger Games movie to buy on Sat. Wasn't expecting oil change yet so it will be covered under family entertainmnet. :rotfl:

Have menu planned for week so should not eat out at all for dinner. Just in case you are wondering we are using the cash envelope system that Dave Ramsey shares in his money makeover book. So that is why I pulled out cash for family entertainment. I actually pull out cash each week for Gas and Groceries as well so I don't go over budgeted amount. Any money that I have leftover goes to either savings or pay extra on a bill.

Deffenm, those enveloped sounds like a good idea! That way you can actually SEE the money.

Packed my lunch so it's another $0 day for me :cool1:
