August mini van rates

I am having so much trouble this year getting a decent rate. Has anyone gotten a good rate? Budget has one out for August 15th--but we are arriving the 14th I think....not to mention, I spoke to Budget a few minutes ago and that code is not in the system so...I don't know if anyone else got it to work. Code U030112--not U030121--that is what mousesavers has posted yet it didn't work so I contacted dollar and now that one didnt work!!!! Gosh, anyone please help. I am stressing more over this that it is worth. We are a group of 8, going to parks, then cruise, then park again so I can't do all the transfers by towncar or anything..it must be a van!! Thanks for any help in return...and I do feel better now that I have vented!! Sorry!!

Can someone who received this email please tell me waht it says...When I do this using the coupon online I get a quote for approx $900 and when I called it was HIGHER!!!! Can someone help me out. Where is the $199 a week?? I need a mini van for handicapped DS from Aug 12-23 and the proces are horrible. We paid less at Christmas. If you received the Budget email can you please let me know what it said or better yet email me? Thank you

You cannot get the minivan rate until the 15th. This is from the email. It has a hyperlink, when you hit it, you get that code. But I just tried it, and it did not bring up that rate ! Perhaps it is sold out, too bad it does not explain that........

Oh, now this is the last straw...I think I am sticking with Dollar from now on....I explained the whole long long story to budget....and asked for a van for 8/15 until 8/21 or the 23rd and sent them the copy of the letter you posted...and they just apologized that my times were not in the plan and to remind me of the black out date and that all the black out dates are not listed.........................WHAT? !!! ....oh well, dollar can have my business now...I guess I will just go with renting two cars instead of one mini van..... who knows...back to my drawing board....have a great day...and thanks for all of your help...that was nice of you......

cpdrn7 - you might consider renting 2 cars anyway if there are 8 of you - unless you travel really light you might have problems fitting that many people and your luggage into a minivan.

Here's what happened to us - 5 of us (with baby, so we had a stroller, too) flew down and rented a mini van - great rate of $199 wk (in Jan). All but one of the mini vans on EA had what I'll call 'limited' space in the back - there was no 'well' area as my van has - the back space starts at seat level. Even though we did grab the 1 minivan with the 'well' , we still had to put suitcases in the extra seats. During our trip both DH and a friend flew in to join us - we ended up renting a 2nd car at the Dolphin for the 2nd half of the trip to USF and back to the airport - it worked out great for us - there was no way we could have fit all 7 people and 7 suitcases in that minivan !!!

Dollar Mini van Aug 12-23 $554.33 using our BJ's 3013 code for best rate. I will keep trying but not daily as I have been...I am going NUTS. I will try weekly and that will have to do.

Our price is 322..with the priceless code and the 20. off from the ent book..can't get it any lower and I keep trying 2-3 x a day..good luck everybody..marianne ps that is the total with taxes and all ..

Thanks for posting this information. I tried it for our dates (Nov. 4-13) and got a rate of $350. I also found a $20 coupon to use at check-in, so if they accept that the final rate will be $330 for 10 days.

Since the rates I was being quoted when I first started looking were around $500, I'm pretty happy with this!

I also just rented a minivan for Nov. 9-14 for 199.oo (estimated total cost is 248.93) with Budget at MCO. I used the code U030121, if anyone else is interested. BUT, if this is only the estimated cost, what can I really expect to pay? We decided to rent rather than take a towncar because we think it will be cheaper in the long run for our plans. We will be staying on Disney property the whole time but will be going to Hoop-DE-Do with 3 young ones and will need to taxi them back. Also we're staying at Shades of Green and have heard a car really helps here. If not for the kids, we would just take as long as it takes to get places. With them, we need some quick way to get back to our rooms when they fall apart. I've never rented a car before, what can I expect? Or would the towncar and taxis when we need them be the best way to go? Thanks for any advice anyone has!
