ABSOLUTELY!! And I say that all the time on here! But it's bad business to create a negative guest experience that might impact their return. Sounds like a lot of people are having the experience at the close of MK and the crazy state of Pandora and its 2 rides even into EMH.

Good business is about striking the right balance: profit and guest experience, and the two are linked. I think they've hit the WRONG balance this July.

Exactly ! It is a business and with a business have you ever heard the saying the customer is always right. Without making the visitors happy they wont have a business.
In my opinion I think Disney is cutting back on hours, charging high prices and adding other things for us to buy is to make money for all the extra things they are building and changing. They have a bunch of plans going on besides the lands they have started at HS.

I didn't check every Deluxe, but the link above is contemporary rack rates... I never said "highest in the summer". I said the summer rate is higher than october. You can click the link above and see for yourself. The only exception is Columbus day.

Apparently, you're only looking at the first number, which is only slightly lower in Oct. The second number is markedly higher than summer:

Non-party nights.

Non-party nights, they close at 9, not 10 and 11 like the summer! And that's only for 3 nights out of 7. For many people they only have ONE night at MK without a party during their vacation. Summer is at least 10 or 11 EVERY SINGLE night.

Even if they update them to 10 or 11, it still doesn't change the fact there are only 3 nights out of the week with MK open that late.

Guess we're going to have to agree to disagree on this one, because you're not changing my mind and I'm obviously not changing yours.

The Pandora EMH was Disney's attempt to allow more people to ride. They've accomplished that, but there just isn't enough time in the day to make everyone happy.

I've mentioned this elsewhere: the LEAST they could do is have all of AK open!!! People could ride Pandora rides but have a better experience spread around the park and riding other things too.

This feels like a bizarre case of "Disney knows best" -- we know you need to ride the Pandora rides, so we'll give you NOTHING else to do on property after 10pm. Ridiculous. Prior to this, I was ASSUMING they were doing this because crowds were down enough to justify it. HOWEVER, the balance is wrong if the experiences I am reading about are widely being experienced.

we have gone the last week in August the last 3 or 4 trips and they never closed at 8 or 9. but we too enjoy the lighter crowds so even a 10pm close time is too bad, although I'd like 11 PM more. Especially for DHS, I' like the second fantasmic.

Last year (2016) only EMH and the extended AK hours went later than 9 PM, with similar hours for our last trip. Looking back at 2010, only 2012 and 2015 offered a post-9PM park on most nights.

check this out - Magic Kingdom never closed before 11 on our 2015 trip and I dont remember it ever closing at 9 for any of our other trips. not sure about our 2009 trip, kids were smal I thin kwe left early anyways but definitely not the last 3 trips.

2014 we must have gotten lucky and happened to be at MK the days they were open late, but again that last week in August only closed at 9 a few times.

someone on the dis did a comparison and showed MK is open for less hours now than years previous. but with them changing the hours to 10PM for the week we're there this year I think chances are good they'll be open until 11.
