We just found out that we may not be able to go in June b/c my dd is going to be in a show. I was thinking about changing to mid August if I could get the free dining. How is the weather different between the two months?

I just Googled average temperature by month for Orlando and came up with the following:

June:
High 91
Low 71

August
High 92
Low 73

Either month is very hot, especially if you are not used to it. I live in Tampa and we seem to have more frequent thunderstorms later in the summer than in June, but overall, I would expect it to the about the same for June-early September.

I don't know about Orlando, but suspect it is similar to here. Humidity is worse in August than in June, though the temps are around the same.

I went in August 2007 for two weeks (10th - 24th) and I live in NH. Honestly, I didn't think it was all that much different than it was at home. Humidity was a big higher, but not by much.

I found what worked the best for us was to get up early and get to the parks for opening. We stayed until about 1 pm and then went back for lunch/swim/rest. We'd then go back at night and stay until closing. We made sure to drink plenty of water and would go inside to airconditioned places to cool off a bit if we were getting too hot (or hit a water ride).

Hot is hot. You may seem some fluke cool (i should say mild- low 70s) evenings/mornings in June you most definitely won't see in August.. but for the most part count on hot and humid in June and hot and really humid in August.

I've never been to WDW in June but have been 4 times in August. I don't find the August heat much worse than the really hot days I've experienced some days in October because in August I'm more used to it at home.

Yeah, having been both times, I think mid June on out through the summer and early fall have very similar temps. It's the humidity that'll make one day more unbearable than another.

I was there last year from August 9-17. IT WAS HOT AND HUMID. I was expecting this. It was 8:30 in the morning, and I was already dripping sweat. The thermometer on the stroller read 82 and it was 100% humidity. I just made sure to drink lots of water and have my DD2 cool off in the water areas of the parks. (MK - Donald's Boat; Epcot - the water fountains that are interactive). Yes, we are going back down at the end of August for free dining (hopefully). Just know it will be hot, and it will rain (which is like June also). The rain was a welcome relief, it cooled it down for a bit.

Just remember that even though both June and August are during Hurricane season, it seems like August is more susceptible--though we went last August and were fine with great weather.

:thumbsup2 Total agreement. You may have cooler mornings or evenings in June, but August is all-over sweltering hot. Just be prepared and have a plan for the heat and you'll still have a great time :)
