Has anyone booked their flights for August 2017 yet?

I've been looking for a little while now and can't find a bargain.

Last year we got Club World/ Business Class bargains with BA from Dubin to Miami for around £900 each and i'd love to do that again at around the same price but I havent been lucky enough to find a deal.

I've looked at Thomas Cook this moring and for 3rd-20th August its £1049.48 for Economy which is just under double our usual Economy budget of £600ish per person.

Has anyone seen any bargains recently?

Thanks

You been through Sky Scanner and the like?

You're probably looking at all the sites I'd try already if so!

Booked today after watching for a while and then finally calling the airline to check availability. We're limited as only want to go direct and prefer sticking with what we know-Virgin-but may be the last time with them as prices are silly. We came back at the end of August last time but think the secrets out now re American schools going back as the return flights are especially bad both with nearly being nearly fully booked and prices.
We've had to make a compromise of coming back on the early flight (2 extra hours in Disney are 2 hours :rotfl:) for 4 of us direct economy it's £3800!! Felt like a battle booking today trying to work out the best option and left husband needing to take breath before he gets excited!
At least if you're happy to go indirect a bit you should save some money. Good luck :thumbsup2

I booked a few weeks ago for end of July/early August. I managed to get UC flights with Virgin but with the starting point again as Dublin. This means we need to fly to Dublin and then back to Manchester but the UC price and seat more than makes up for it. We're flying Man to Mco and return from Vegas and the total price was approx £1400 each. Had we flown direct from Man, the price was around £3000 each!

We did the Dublin route last year and had an overnight stay at LHR and it was great. We're intending to do the same this year as it makes a great start to the holiday.

We just paid £1,500PP for PE but it was only slightly more than economy!

Crazy expensive. I'd love a £600 budget!

We are going indirect partly due to price and partly due to location - (we live 20 mins from Birmingham airport and love being able to get home so quickly once plane lands on the return journey. I can't sleep on planes so hate the journey back from further away airports!!)

So anyway - I booked a couple of weeks ago. Indirect flights but good times! 26th July - 30th August £611 each. We were happy with that

Our TC flights for June/July were £1600 for 2 Premium seats, booked a couple of months ago

The Dub-Ex route as the Airline forums call it is great for cheaper flights, it avoids the taxes.

One year we got Upper with Virgin Holidays for around £500 extra pp. Worked out around £1000pp for flights.

Still don't rate VA Upper Class, very poor service last time compared to BA Business

So far we haven't had a bad flight in UC but I have heard from friends who have experienced mediocre service. We haven't flown BA buisness but have tried Aer Lingus who were excellent. I'd never pay full price however and it's either airmiles or ex Dublin.

We had broken seats, lack of meal options, the bar was covered in stuff so out of use. Usually the Service Manager comes and introduces themselves, but this doesn't happen much, and there don't seem to be dedicated Upper Crew, they do PE and Upper meaning getting their attention is tough.

If we do manage a business class deal it will only be from Dublin, but it's coming out at much more than last year so far. So out of our price range! Fingers crossed for some deals for our dates! xx

The times are great - route not so great !!!
B'ham 08:55 - Frankfurt
Frankfurt 13:40 - land at Orlando 17:40
(Just over 2 hours wait in Frankfurt)

Coming back we leave Orlando at 20.05 and arrive back in b'ham at 12:45 the next day

We booked directly with Lufthansa
But I did ring charter travel - they were pretty good on prices too.

They aren't my ideal flight - but they were a good price and as I said before we really wanted to fly from b'ham so knew we would have to accept an indirect flight !!

I booked mine yesterday, paid more than i wanted to but it was starting to mess with my anxiety worrying about not getting a window seat etc. £1082 each direct with virgin from Manchester. Paid an extra £20 to have the earlier flight in the morning so arrive at 14.30 instead of 16.30!

Hi
I was just about to post a similar thread so will be watching this one. We are completely stuck with dates and direct flights and the prices are ridiculous. The flight is probably going to cost more than 2 weeks on site with upgraded dining and park tickets which is completely crazy. I almost booked BA this morning as it was on sky scanner at £2491 for 2 adults and a child wish I had now as from what everyone is saying that sounds like a pretty good deal! I was hoping they might come down a bit once the free dining and gift card offer ends in 9 days, we got amazing flights that way 2 years ago. But we also have huge amounts of anxiety about not getting flights so I'm not sure we'll hold out until then!

Good luck everyone.

That's not good. We've not had any problems so far. The FSM has always been more than attentive on our flights and bar staff have been great too.
