August flights

Well they do fly from many UK airports, we flew with them from Glasgow via dublin to MCO last year and this year we are going from Edinburgh.

You clear immigration at dublin so we will I hope be on our way to our resort pretty quickly after landing in MCO.

The wait at dublin on the way out is only 3hours but on the way back its 5 but to be honest for the price we paid which was around £1400 at the most for both of us its really not an issue.

Sorry don't know how to do multi quotes!

How do you clear US immigration in Dublin when you're not in the States?

We are having the same problems, for the first time we have decided to go non package deal as they seem to be a joke right now and since we still want to do 3 wks 2 at the least and stay at Disney for all of it with ddp then we need to get flights for 3 adults 3 kids as cheap as possible even willing to go silly hours indirect which I would never have done before the price increase with 3 kids!! We go in September/ October and are flexible after the first 2 wks of September( we find it too hot any earlier) and whilst the kids are young enough we will take them out of school as hubby is in the RAF they are very understanding with that. So I'm hoping that the times we go are relatively cheap compared to what you guys are looking at for July august etc I mean OUCH!!!!

Just FYI I would speak to your school about taking your children out for 15 days before you book anything. Not wanting to start a debate or anything but I'd clear that hurdle before I spent that much money.

How do you clear US immigration in Dublin when you're not in the States?

They have special arrangement with the USA to have a pre clearance at Dublin so when you land in the USA you are classed as a domestic flight so its just bags and then customs and thats it once you land.

Overall the layover on the way back does not bother us gives us time to get some food and strectch our legs before the flight back to edinburgh. Plus if there are any problems with the flight our of MCO we still have plenty of time before our next one. It seems like a long time but it passes really quickly done longer layovers going to other places so its not a problem for us.

There's a similar arrangment at most Canadian airports - so you don't always have to land in a US city to clear US immigration; you still just get to walk straight out of the airport at MCO (which, for us, is one of the nicer parts of flying indirect) :thumbsup2

There are lots of indirect options out there and it's never as painful as you think it's going to be - and can save ££!! People are just afraid of it because it's (marginally) more complicated than going straight A to B. I can see why it wouldn't exactly be preferable if you had very small children, but the obsession with "flying direct" means you only have the choice of two airlines - and we've seen how they manipulate their prices as a result

I did not realise that with the canada option, We looked at Air Canada flights but I think it was still a bit pricey and the flight length was a bit much.

Yeah direct apart from the VA or flying into sanford is the only option from Scotland. So we have found aerlingus with the Dublin stop to be a better option than BA as last time we did that we had to get between Gatwick and Heathrow and that just added on too much stress for me. If they start giving an ME option from Sanford then we might reconsider (we book DIY so no package included transfers and we don't hire a car)

I agree with people with kids though, flew with my sister and niece and it was tough getting between flights with all the bags, buggy etc and then having to deal with a small very tired child.

Really? We booked for next year with them, via 1 stop in Canada - the total flight length is only 1 hour more than flying direct + the connection time.

Hi all
Just booked our flights and hoping I've not made a huge 'boo boo' as they were so cheap!
Booked through flights2florida and are flying Delta.
Outward has 1 stop in Boston for 1h 30m then to Orlando.
Back non-stop Miami to Heathrow (hoping to finish hol with cruise from Miami)
3 ad 2 chn = £2285.00
Checked the co out and they are ABTA and several people here and on another forum have used them before so hoping they ok.
Just checked on the Delta website with our ref no and our booking is there so hoping we just got lucky!

Don't know anything about the company, sounds like a great price. Happy Planning :goodvibes

Had a very quick search and that price looks to be about right for 3 adults with no children, Ebookers just quoted me £2,291.25. I am sure you have double checked everything. sounds like a mistake somewhere along the lines, hopefully you won't get a phone call telling you they made an error. I booked flights for next month knowing it was an error, I got a phone call a couple of hours later telling me their website hadn't added the taxes, they wouldn't honour the price.

I notice other people are booking this route at low prices with Flights2Florida
Just seen this deal posted 31st july -14th Aug Delta LHR - MCO via Boston there and via Miami back £499 per person.
It is an error on their system but they know about it and are sticking to the price if anyone wants to ring them and try their luck.

I've checked the Delta website and under our booking code it has all our names, dobs etc so can't see a problem - fingers crossed its all ok - not heard anything yet but still can't allow myself to get too excited by it yet just in case!!

I have been debating a trip home next summer to visit my Dad in Derby. I just checked the airfare on multiple dates june-august and there is no way I am going home :( We are a family of 5 and it was over $5,500!!! I always fly VA as they go direct out of Boston and have the best on board entertainment but NO WAY!!! I even looked at flights just for me and my 5 year old, thinking I REALLY need to visit my Gran, but I just can't justify playing $1,200 each..... not happy!

Looks like I will be returning to WDW and I will just have to get my fix in the UK pavilion!

Would be cheaper to fly your Gran out :rotfl:
Costs are crazy, thankfully I had enough miles to spend to get cheap flights next Summer, year after DS is at Uni so hopefully we can go in Sept for low fares.
