Just booked on Opodo for 21 nights (7th Aug - 28th)
Manchester to Tampa
2 adults 2 children for £1856 changing at Atlanta

Hope this is of use to other people

Very tempted with these flights. Just found them £30pp cheaper on Expedia, £465 each (£495 with Opodo) another £10pp cheaper with Openjet but I have never heard of them.
Thats flying 6th-31st. Never flown into Tampa, I guess it will be a simple drive up only 65 miles from Disney.
£1,396 for 3 of us compared to Virgin at £2,496. worth a change for £1,100. will any miles offers come up? Too many decisions:rotfl:

We flew into Tampa a few years ago. Smaller than MCO meaning it was quicker to go through immigration etc. The £££ savings justify the travel time!

Well I booked. Might even stay down there for 1st night and do Busch 1st day. Lots of time to decide. Paid £1,396 for 3 of us and got £13.96 cashback thru Rpoints. £460.68pp BUT there is an error on the website so just now they have given me Business class seats, Row 2a, b & c. My confirmation says Biz class and logged into AirFrances website says confirmes and Biz class. Waiting for phone call or eamil now to tell me there is a mistake.

I am tempted too at these prices but not even brave enough yet to drive from MCO so no way I can drive from Tampa. Happy to drive in Orlando. Any other options anyone knows of getting from Tampa to Orlando?

Thanks for posting.

I booked direct to Tampa (flydrive) with BA last week. Worked out around £800 each but indirect savings were not appealing enough to bother with (could only save £100 ish & not arrive till Midnight)

As I was in the "cooling off" period I phoned & cancelled. Booked LGW to Tampa Sat 8th to Sat 29th August next year at £426 each through Expedia. Six of us going so a massive saving for the sake of 2 hours in Atlanta. Times of flights good too.

Thanks again !

You really must get into driving over there, I love it. If I had not found a good price for a local airport I was considering flying into Charlotte, North Carolina, staying with some friends up there a few days then doing the 9-10 hour drive down to Orlando. I hate driving in UK but over there I would not hesitate driving from One coast to the other, Their cars, roads, everything I just can't put into words how easy and enjoyable I find it.

I love driving over there too. Drove down to Sanibel last year, may go to Marco next year for a week.

Tampa to Orlando is virtually one road (the I4) all the way. Couldn't be easier.

From Manchester I had choice of 1hr 20mins or 3 hr 30mins. I went for 3hr 30. I thought sooner one was cutting it a little fine. We did it in 1 hour last time but I don't like rushing so much.

I would rather di it at a leisurely pace. I think we have about a 2 hr 20 min wait, by the time you stretch your legs, have a look round, get some snacks etc its time to board again. Due to land in Tampa around 5pm so will be in the Formosa gardens Outback by 7:30 I reckon !! with a bloomin onion and a cold beer, and 2 grand better off !!

Have you booked for Air France? Thats the option coming up for my dates 10th August. Never flown Air France. Anyone know what sort of planes they have, entertainment system etc. Price LGW to Tampa £420 which is great so just hoping they have seat back tv's. Don't think I can entertain my son for that long!
Thanks

Its an AirFrance booking but its a codeshare seat with Delta so you actually fly on a Delta plane. Sorry can't help with entertainment I never look, always sleep every flight.

Wayne my Confirmation says business class too. I assume they will change it nearer the time. Air France operated by Delta. Am I right in thinking that we check in at the Delta Desk ?

Thanks

They should contact either by phone or email if they change the class of ticket. OK anyone that booked economy and they have said biz by mistake then they can probably change without informing but I booked business class. I am not expecting it but they had better tell me if they change it.
Yes you goto Delta desk to check in.
My flight next week is with KLM but its NWA flight so I checking with them. Then I come home with Delta. All too confusing.:rotfl2:

We have booked aswell, we booked it as buisness class so fingers crossed it gets honoured, Need to find a Gatwick hotel that sleeps 5 now if anyone has any ideas.

Thanks to OP and Wayne excellent prices:cool1:

Hi Wayne - I have a friend who lives near Charlotte - but the flights have been pretty steep! Last year we managed to get a decent one in October - with only a £10 increase to fly on to Orlando after a week! Couldn't believe it!!

I had been looking and they were only about £50pp cheaper than MCO but was watching as an option. Flying into Tampa now so stopped looking.
