August flight prices

Hi

I am planning an August trip in 2013 and have been looking at virgin fares for this August to get an idea of budget currently for 2 ad 2 ch total cost £3400. I know flights get released around 11 months ahead - do you think this will be the cost??

When we started looking for our flights for this August, direct VA flights from Manchester were coming in at £850 each. However, we managed to get Air France via Paris for £550 each in the Delta "glitch" episode around late September 2011.

For our 2010 trip, we managed to get direct Heathrow - Miami flights late July/August for £400 each, albeit having a 4 hour drive each way to get to/from Orlando - these were booked in November 2009.

From the London area, it can pay to look at alternatives such as Miami from Heathrow or Tampa from Gatwick as there can be savings to be made on these fares.

No-one knows what they will be, again this year direct has held the price, a few good deals for Miles and Money if you have any. Personally I would not pay those prices for economy flights, I would want PE at least one of the ways for that. For this year tehre has been AA flights from around £400, some were direct one way(LON~MCO) and indirect return.
£400-500pp saving for a little inconvenience has to be worth it IMO.

I hv never booked at 11 months just kept looking till price was right and basically had the moneySeriously which time in august? We were orug going 17 th- 1st but due to ridiculous prices though if had the money cld hv had PE return for arnd £780 each as some did again didnt hv the money saved. Now goin 21-5 th sept as in another thread i posted will save over £900. No brainer really. Not used to these peak flights as norm go out of season and pay around £1400 for 3 but those days are gone. I heard tht taxes were goin up in april how true tht is I dnt know. Prices fluctuate so much.
