August Codes!

I know that it is probably months before they come out, but is anyone else planning a trip this August and waiting for the AP and room only codes to come out?!

Do you mind sharing with me what "codes" are? Are these for savings on resort stays for budget-minded individuals such as myself? And if so, how do they work? I've been on the boards here, but only on the cruiseboards in the past. We are now planning a trip to the world for end of July or beginning of August, so I'm visiting forums and topics that are new to me! TIA

Disney offers "last-minute" savings, presumably based on booking trends. Also, "special offers" where Disney teams up with other companies (like McDonalds) receive discount codes to be used when making reservations.

I'll be making reservations soon for October, hoping that I will later be able to apply a discount code (when/if available).

Yup. Waiting for August too. I'm settling with AAA for now but hope for a code in the spring....it's going to be a long winter!

Yes I'am waiting for August AP codes. I will get res with AAA and then apply AP code if if comes out. This what I did for Easter.

Same here, but I know it is early. We are booked with a AAA rate, and we are waiting on AP codes. My TA will make all the changes for me, so I don't have to watch the boards all day and then spend time on the phone. At least I don't have to worry about that part.

I'm glad that others are in the same boat....I'm planning on reserving with Dreams Unlimited with the AAA rate and then hoping for a code. If a code was to come out, would DU guarantee to add it to my reservation? What if they don't spot the code quick enough and it sells out? This is what I'm worried about!

I'm waiting for August codes too! Since we are staying late Aug. through early September, would WDW let our August codes apply to the rest of our vacation? Or does it just depend on other factors?

If codes come out I will be staying at AKL for a few days prior to my cruise. If not, probably one of the mods.

I suppose there are no guarantees, but my own experience with DU has been that they are pretty darn quick on the draw. Codes came out for our December trip while we were vacationing in the World in late August. How nice it was to return from vacation to find that they'd gone ahead and applied the code for us. They also secured our first choice dining option for the Candlelight Processional on the first day reservations were permitted. I checked the boards that night after work to see how many folks had spent precious time waiting on hold. My job would never permit that and with DU I had no worries. IMHO, they're as good as their word!
