August Cinderella breakfast or lunch?

DH, DD (7) and I returned on 12/5 after an amazing visit (their first) and have been missing WDW. On a New Year's Eve whim my husband and I called and booked a trip in August for our 10th anniversary. The 3 of us are staying at POLY! I am so jazzed. DD morphed from a pirate into a princess during our most recent trip and keeps talking about having a meal with Cinderella in her castle. We are beginning to make plans (less than 2 months from making ADRs) and are curious... breakfast or lunch with Cindy?
Our most recent trip was commando style, this one is with the idea of rest and relaxation (or at least not total exhaustion) - 8/28-9/2. Should we make an early ressie for lunch and arrive at MK later in the morning with our costumed daughter? Should we book the earliest time for breakfast?
Any suggestions?

Hi,

We love to eat at the castle. We prefer lunch or dinner because for the price breakfast just does not do it for us. If your daughter wants to wear a costume I would bring it with you and just put it over her clothes at the restaurant. It is very hot in Aug. and many little girls complain that their costumes get itchy. That is my 2 cents:thumbsup2 Have fun!

We did the breakfast many years ago with DD. She absolutely loved it!!! We still have a framed picture of her with Sleeping Beauty on her dresser and she is sooooo a pre-teen at 10!
There are so many factors to think about as to breakfast or lunch. Are you kids morning people or will the weather be HOT and you'll wanna escape the heat?! Hmmmmm... decisions, decisions, decisions....:flower3:

Given that you are looking for a "relaxing" visit this time around then I would suggest doing the lunch. Also, I agree with the recommendation of having DD wear her princess costume over her clothes because August in FL can be beastly hot. After lunch, fold it up and store it in a bag or a Disney locker.

We've done both breakfast and lunch at the castle and I enjoyed them equally. Don't forget your camera(s) and autograph book!

Thanks everybody! I am leaning toward lunch at the castle, and then a quick escape from the heat for an afternoon at the Poly pool. Although my daughter is a morning person, her father and I are not. Lunch might be best for all of us.

Hey - any suggestions of where to dine on the night of our anniversary? In December we went to Chef Mickey, Kona, Rose and Crown, Sci Fi Drive In, Chefs de France, Ohana, Spirit of Aloha, Hollywood and Vine - and are trying not to duplicate (although we will be going back to Kona).

We made breakfast reservations for our next trip (this Jan) and I am wishing I would have made lunch reservations. The idea of touring in the am, then heading to the castle for lunch sounds more relaxing than getting to the castle at 8:10am and touring afterwards. Plus, my daughter really loves the opening song at WDW and we will miss that while eating breakfast.

We did lunch this time and my dd's loved it. The only drawback was having to drag the dresses around all morning. We're going in Aug. too and I'm still deciding if we should do the castle again or not.

DBMarie: I noticed your ticker and have a question. Is it definite that there will be free dining again in Aug??? Thanks

The bounceback offer was for free dining in aug, you had to be staying at disney in dec. and make your reservations for aug. during your stay.
