August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

The new dryer comes today. I can't wait to do laundry LOL

Just booked the Wonder for the August 9, 2011 7 night Alaska cruise!! It will be me, my husband and our then 12 year old DD. Anyone else with a daughter about the same age going? Ours is an only child and it would be great to have her connected with a friend before we even go! This is our very first Disney cruise and my first cruise ever! We are very excited but also a little nervous about booking so far in advance. At least I have time to figure out the logistics of airfare, hotel, transfers, etc.

So I have had a surprise :wizard: in the making for my girls going on 6 months. My 8 & 10yr old are a Miley Cyrus fan (and I must admit I like her too!). As you know we live in Canada and her tour was not coming here. We have close friends in Cleveland so I decided to get concert tickets (it was this past Sunday), but we told the girls we were going to Cleveland for a birthday party. When they got up on the Sunday (I bought them personalized t-shirts) we told them the real reason we were going to a Miley show. They were literaly speechless! So we drive to the arena, and when we get there the girls are surprised there are not many people around, surprise 2 my husband ("dad of the year":worship:) was able to get soundcheck party tickets. We watched her perform two songs and then had the opportunity to meet Miley and have a picture with her. It was quite amusing, we all just said hi, we did not know what to say:confused3 All the time we were at the soundcheck, I told the girls we don't have great seats but at least we were there, you guessed it surprise 3 after dinner we returned and we were directed to floor row 3 (so a lot of luck & being a member of the Miley fan club paid off, we got a code to order a week before the public). We had an amazing time and the girls have memories to last a lifetime.
Thanks for listening
Allison

WOW
I think you are in the running for the PARENTS OF THE YEAR award !

.

Caropooh,
Would love to hook our girls up for the cruise. We will be staying in cabin 5132. Are you anywhere close?

Hmmm....new Dryer, new car, new iPod, new iPod cable for new car...someone MUST love you

Wait?!?!?!?!?!?!

A new cable for the new Ipod for the new car....

The only thing that can top that is if you book the new room that would top your last room, and invite me to stay with you ....

Hey, do you have any idea of what a 17 year old DS might like for Christmas that is NOT pink?

Welcome, I'll get you added to the first post when I get caught up on here.

Hi everyone, went to WDW last week and just let DIS go by the wayside when we were gone. Getting things caught up now.

NOT pink - do they make such things.

oh, no, I think they went overboard in the "pink" category this year - plenty of things to find - but we are interested in what a DS might like that is NOT in the category of pink.....

Hope you had a great time!!!!

For the most part we did have a good time. Love the AP's so we don't care if we are only in the parks for a couple of hours. We hit Epcot 5 days, love that park.

We were at WDW from 11/14th - 11/21st. Perfect weather!!

I was debating changing our Alaska plans to another cruise line. But my DDs were just horrified at the idea of sailing without Mickey Mouse. LOL. So we've left it alone. Always time to do it differently when they are older.

I can't believe 2009 is almost over. . ..bringing other vacations closer and closer!
