August 9, 2011 (8/9/2011) Taking the Wonder to see the AMERICAN CHILD

You should indicate who the gift is from.....

I am thinking about shipping my goodies to the hotel we are staying at before the cruise. I am just concerned with the items getting help up at customs and "missing the boat"!

Joe

Thanks Joe. Shipping to the hotel is a great idea. I may do that!

Do you both know that right now the Canadian postal service is on strike? USPS also is not accepting any mail to canada. I would hope this will be cleared up by the time we go, but you never know! Someting to think about and keep an eye on.

Did not know that!!! Thanks for the info!

For those of you arriving in Vancouver a few days early, are you taking any tours in Vancouver or over to Victoria? Which company are you using?:confused3

After all this waiting, our trip is just around the corner (and down the block aways)!:dance3:

Thanks,
Laurie:surfweb:

We are staying in Vancouver for a few days after the cruise. It is an AMAZING city that we have visited many times before.

Definitely do the aquarium and Stanley park, and Capilano Suspension Bridge and Granville Island and Kitsilano Beach...and and...I hope you have lots of time!

we are coming in early and plan on hiking Grouse Mt, Capilano Suspension Bridge and Stanley Park ( if we have time) .

I really wanna whale watch and got a groupon for Vancouver Island.. thinking it was Vancouver.. well it involves taking the ferry to Vancouver Island, then driving around the Island .. so DS#2 is not interested in taking the trip.. any thoughts or ideas??

IMHO having been to Vancouver many times and also Victoria...I think it depends on how much time you have. There is so much to see and do in and around Vancouver that if you only have a few days I don't know that I'd want to spend a whole day going to Victoria and back...although, if you want a truly spectacular day trip and will have a car...you could always go up to Whistler for the day...we are thinking of doing that after our cruise. I have been to Whistler in the winter and it is amazing, and I've heard it is equally amazing in summer.

I created a Facebook Group for our Cruise. I joined another group for a cruise we have planned in 2012 and though it was a great idea, so I stole it!. We can share thoughts, pics, and memories now and after the cruise if you would like to join.

Here is a link...

I think you can just request to join and I'll have to approve it. :dance3:

Join if you would like, if not, that's okay too!!!

Hi all, sorry to be MIA but that happens when at WDW.
I see there are some newbies so welcome. If you want your info added to the first post the best thing would be to send me a PM since I'm not checking DIS a lot when I'm down here, which is for another 5 weeks.

I also got the same thing when I clicked on the FB link posted above.

Are any husbands renting/wearing a tuxedo on Formal Night? My dh is still trying to figure out if he is going to or not.....

After 'tuxing' on all of our previous longer cruises, DH is just gonna wear a dark navy blazer and dark pants with a shirt & tie for formal night on this cruise.

...Just curious about what excursions people are on or if anyone's booked the same ones as us....

We are all doing the following:

Skagway: Takshanuk Mountain Trail 4x4 (through Disney) 7:15am-1:45pm

Juneau: Glacier Helicopter Dog Sled Tour (privately through Alaska Heli-Mush & Era Helicopters) 10:15am-1:30pm

Ketchikan: Anan Creek Wildlife Bear Observatory with a Misty Fjords Flightseeing add-on (privately through Family Air Tours) 1:00pm-6:30pm

Can't wait! We leave in 40 days! :yay:
