August 30th 2014, 7 night Mediterranean Cruise - Disney Magic

Hi. We have that scheduled for the start of the cruise but when we dock we r are on our own to get to hotel.

I have for the dock to the Hilton Diagonal Mar for the return, sure they don't also do the Renaissance?

When we return we are staying at hotel jazz. We tried the renaissance but the more than doubled so we booked our own hotel.

I am not sure about the cab fare, but I also read about 30, and 35 back and forth from the airport. So, I arranged for a private transfer. It doesn't cost that much more, no waiting in lines, no stress about timing.... It just works for us. I mention this as another option to consider.

I'm surprised they won't do them back to the Renaissance. We did not try to get them back to the Renaissance from the cruise, though, because we are flying out.

Hi everyone. Anything new?

Hi there! Nothing new here except the frenzy of getting in on opening day pricing for Summer 2015! LOL! I have been wondering if anyone would be dropping out of our group in order to sail next year.

Everything still stands as we know it:

2 places left for private brunch, I will be contacting DCL soon about that, and I will let you know when I need names and stateroom or reservation numbers for that.

Mixology, we have 13 people showing an interest, so we need 12 more to come on board in order to make it a private event. I will be honest that if we cannot secure a private event, I will not go. It just is not interesting when there are over 40 people. Last year our 'private' Mixology did not have enough participants so they opened it up to the public and it was a madhouse, basically just servers coming around with mini drinks while the bartender rattled off ingredients, no recipe list, no handout, no jokes, nothing.

Fish Extender list: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet...bl9oYndKS2ZIYUFfRVNiTlRrelE&usp=sharing#gid=0

That is what I am arranging :laundy:

There are a few of us staying at the economical Travelodge in Pobleneu... And a few of us have arranged hotels through DCL.

I am looking into doing ports on our own again, and will most likely stay on the boat in Rome (been there, done that, easy for me to get there for a weekend getaway)

That's all my end... anyone else? :)

We are doing the med cruise then taking the Magic back to Puerto Rico. There has got to be someone else on the ship doing the same.

I know, I have to be back at work before the 10th, so I will never be able to do the TAs. I have friends on that cruise whom we met while cruising last year and I wish I could have them as dining mates again!

I wonder MK Mooose if you wouldn't mind giving them a little package from me as a surprise?

Thanks MKMooose, it won't be anything obnoxious :goodvibes

On the planning front, How are things everyone??? I admit that I have been kinda busy and am trying to justify just staying on the boat in all ports :lmao: but I won't be able to do that.... New places just call to me begging to be experienced.

We don't always do a lot of excursions (35+Cruises) but since this is our first visit to the med we probably will do something in each port. We are also heading to Barcelona two days early so we could see some sites there. The TA is just for relaxing.

We just booked airfare, so now we are definitely coming.

Does anyone have any experience with the Disney adults only excursions? We do not have any children and have used the adults only excursions before in the Caribbean.

We are thinking of possibly the Best of Rome or Jumping Back to Eternal Rome. It appears the Best of Rome goes to fewer places but includes an Italian lunch. Which would be better?

:cool1: Yay for having airfare!

I am afraid I cannot help you with the excursions, because I am a DIY type. But I can say that when we went to Rome, we were still so full from the previous 4 days on the ship that beyond water we really did not want anything, even gelato! The only thing I made sure we tried was the frozen coffee with whipped cream outside the Pantheon :thumbsup2. Only you can tell if you are the type that would rather sit down for a couple of hours to have a meal. :)

Hi all this will be our first cruise (myself, DH and DS-6 at travel time) and this is my first time using forums and all that. Not very technically inclined....I'm interested in joining the FE as we'll but don't know how it all works...would love some help from you experienced cruisers!
