It's the new year, and that means we're that much closer to the cruise! It's 225 days away!


I've updated the first post with who is going on the cruise, but I wasn't sure about IrishCowboy and ladyleslie - you both have posted on here, but I didn't know if you're just stopping by, or if you are going on the cruise as well.

Sadly, DH sustained a back and spine injury on January 1st. Doctors are optimistic for a full recovery, but it will take 6-9 months. We have rescheduled for the Disney Wonder cruise from Los Angeles to Vancouver in April of 2011. Have fun in the Bahamas without us.

Oh jeez - I'm so sorry to hear that... but I'm glad that it's full recovery, that's good news! Sending lots of pixie dust to you and your husband!

Our family of three, DD is 7, is going on this cruise as well. 4 nights at POFQ, The cruise then 4 nights at WL, and the Halloween party. I understand that the parks are empty the week before labour day !

Take the early morning boat ride from POR to POFQ for the beignets, then either boat back or (if the weather cooperates) walk back to burn off some calories. It's one of the best perks of the PO resorts.

Been busy guys - I'm going to school fulltime (second masters) - I work full time and im chasing my kid around (definetly a fulltime job) - so by the time this cruise comes around - I'm so going to be in need for a vacation.

Does any one know:
I want to book my 2011 cruise now (also for august) cuz the price is great right now. But I also want to get the credit for an on board booking - Is there a way to roll over that room I get now - and somehow add the discounts of on board booking when we are on the boat in August??? - or am I just asking for too much?? - lol -

One other thing - I took my digital camera on the boat last year - and my indoor pics were not so great - does anyone have a digital camera they can recommend that takes awesome indoor pictures????

We are also taking the 4 night to the Bahamas. Plan to stay at WDW prior to the cruise. Not sure which resort yet.... love planning!

So I have some good and bad news... good news: I've been accepted to work for the College Program for Fall 2010!

The bad news is that I start on August 30th, so I will not be on this cruise. The rest of my family is still going (PinballFamily & co.), so I can still keep this thread updated, if you guys want. I don't mind at all, since everyone in my family is still going.

We did book another cruise (two, actually, B2B) on the Dream for almost the same time in 2011, so maybe we'll see some of you on that one too!

We have a family of four that is also going on this cruise - our first ever! We have DDs 17 and 14. We will be going to WDW for 8 days before (staying at Pop).

We will be arriving in Orlando on Aug. 18 and spending some days at Universal Studios. Than we hop on the Carnival Dream for a one week cruise. Get back, spend one night in Orlando and hop on the Wonder the next day. This will be our 6th Disney Cruise but the first one on the Wonder - figured we give it a try before it heads out to California next year.

Danica, I have been a fan of yours following you and Lou around your Aug 2009 Disney trip BEFORE I even knew we were cruising together
But now you won't be coming BUT I could not be more happier for you, congrates on getting into the college program! It couldn't happen to a more deserving Disney fan ! Keep us all posted when your journey begins.

Absolutely! There will be plenty of opportunities to go on a cruise but how often does someone get accepted into Disney's college program - not often I'm sure!

You mentioned you are doing a B2B next year on the Dream around this time, which ones are you going on? We're also on the Dream next August but I think we are going before yours. How lucky you are to do a B2B!

We are going on the August 12th one and we are pushing it because we also booked the August 23rd Wonder to Alaska. A new ship, a special itinerary - too hard to choose between the two so we decided to do both.
