We just booked !!!! I am so excited but a little worried about my DH. This will be his first cruise ever. I went with the kids on a 4day last time and had the best time ever.
This time it will be me 38, DH 40, DD 13 and DS 10 and can't wait

Tell your husband not to worry, he will have so much fun that he will wish the cruise was longer than 7 days. This will be a great way to end the summer

Praying for calm seas and great weather for our sailing. DH gets sea sick but he has lucked out on the 4 cruises he has been on.

I visited Long Island (Garden City) once for a week regarding business. I stayed at the Garden City Hotel and took a cab from the hotel to the Long Island airport to pick up a rental car

That trip taught me why they call Long Island, Long Island

It would have been cheaper to go to LaGuardia or Kennedy

Tomorrow marks my one year anniversary for booking this trip I have never booked a trip this far out in my life.

The benefits have been that I got a good price, booked the cabins that I wanted and had a chance to talk family and friends to join us (Nine total in group)

My mother may get the room credit for the fuel charge adjustment if prices stay down. I'm not telling her, but instead it will be a surprise to help pay tips or to make purchases.

Hey Everybody,

I am still here too. Been busy with work, kids, holidays... you all know the drill.

I am starting to get excited for this cruise now that we are under 9 months. I have a weekly countdown on my calendar just like My4PhillyGirls.

I got a bonus at work today so I bought myself a nice new camera to take better pictures on the cruise. This last time, my pictures were just not very good and I was getting frustrated. I ordered it off Amazon so it should be here next week.

Oh, we are now talking about rebooking the cruise we canceled for the week before this cruise. We just can't make up our minds what we want to do.

After the holidays, I will redo the roll call list and get it updated. I don't know who is still going and who has canceled so far.

I'm watching the Travel Channel and DCL is on right now! Boy I wish I was cruising right now. I have seen this show maybe 10 times and it still gets me pumped up for cruising

It will be back on tonight. I DVR'd Cruising Do's and Don'ts and DCL this evening so I can watch it again later.

Congrats on the bonus and new camera. We got an Olympus digital last year that could take underwater pictures just for our cruises. LOVE it - even though we are a Canon family.

So you will be sailing out of Miami the week before? I may be down there too. Trying to figure out what exactly what I want to do so that I can plan out the logistics - drive, fly, etc. - so I can start shopping airfare if I need to.

I set my TIVO to record it because I will be on the Pearl in April!

DH made the mistake of DVRing a bunch of Disney stuff on the Travel Channel last year. I think I was suppose to skip a year of WDW this year but after watching everything he TIVO'd, the kids and I looked so sad that he told us to GO, GO, GO!!! Is it any wonder why I love him so much?

We renewed our APs and made 3 trips since then.

He is now very careful about what he TIVO's.

I would love to see the special on the Pearl later this month. I enjoyed the show on the making of the Queen Mary 2. Hopefully DCL was paying attention when they talked about the propellers were made to cut down on the vibration of the ship.

I think we are going to book the RCI Monarch out of Pt. Canaveral. It is a 4 night starting on the 24th. We were also considering the NCL Sky and RCI Majesty out of Miami, but thought the 5 hour drive each way might spoil the vacation. The Monarch will be about $1500 for the 4 of us in a tiny inside cabin and the Majesty was the same but NCL is about $500 cheaper for an outside cabin.

The camera I got is the Panasonic Lumix FZ28. It is in the megazoom category and got rave reviews on CNET.com. I have a Canon A540 and I have been very unhappy with it. I cannot figure out the menu for the life of me. It arrives on Thursday and I am super excited. This gives me time to figure it out before Christmas morning. It even takes HD movies.

Could somebody check the DCL website and check to verify that a Cat 10 for two 1 adult and 1 15year old is the same price as a Cat 12

I tried it 3 times and got the same price. It makes no sense because a Cat 11is more expensive than a Cat 10?

Can't wait to view this show. I love Disney, but I also love looking at the evolution of cruise ships.
