August 29, 2016 4 night Bahamian on Disney Dream

Hello everyone!!!! What a fantastic time we all will have on August 29th!!!! It will be our very first cruise, and we pick the dcl to be our first....but i do have one worry, its about my 16 year old daughter. Every time we done a vacation she had her sister, however her sister is in college now, and is unable to go. I am afraid she will not have fun, or meet other kids her age. I really don't want her to start having fun on the cruise on the last day. Anyone else have this worry?

Hello and welcome to the DIS boards and the cruise thread.
While I don't have any kids of my own, my sister and I are always doing stuff together when we go away so I can see how you would worry when one is on their own. The good thing on DCL is their provisions for kids of all ages. You may already know about this but if you don't here is some info. The Vibe is their teenage zone for kids 14-17. They have their own space inside and outside with its own deck area. It opens form 11.00am - 02.00am. When we dock at Castaway Cay The Vibe also has its own teen activities and hang out. Hopefully your daughter will be able to find something to do and meet some new friends so that you can all enjoy your first Disney cruise :)

Hi everyone!! Booked this one on the last night of our spring break cruise!!! This will be our third cruise and we are really looking forward to seeing the Dream. Have to say we really, really enjoyed the Magic!!! Our first was the Fantasy and that was fantastic but once we cruised the Magic we fell in love. Small enough that the crowds were minimal (noticeable on Castaway) but still big enough to provide a great cruise!!! So excited though!!!

@Laura Elizabeth - :welcome:I'm at the top of Lake Superior and we seem to have ice everywhere right now. I am kicking myself for waiting until August instead of doing a spring break trip, but the prices were so much better. (Especially with the terrible exchange!)

I am glad to see a fellow Wisconsin person :) correction I read your post wrongly...your on top of Superior.... sad face haha

Lucky you! Three different cruises on three different ships! This will be our second cruise, and second on the Dream. It's a lovely ship :)

Hello fellow Dreamers! I am Ann Marie and will be cruising with my Daughter-Jennifer and grandson Rylan. We love the FE and have been working on items since our last cruise!!! Sign us up for FE.
This will be my fifth Disney cruise and the third for my daughter and grandson. We come from Tennessee, near Chattanooga. We are looking forward to meeting everyone and if anyone will be crocheting on the cruise, I'm already your friend!!!!!

I tried knitting and crocheting last year. I just about managed the knitting, but not the crocheting; it kept coming unraveled! I am, however, a keen cross-stitcher! Welcome board!

We have done our online check-in so we have booked our port arrival time! How is everyone else doing?

Hello! New to FE and Disney Cruising but would like to figure FE out before we cruise! Family of 5 and We will have a birthday girl that will turn 7 as we set sail! Super excited. If anyone has some good info for me as to how I accurately account # for other FE members please let me know. Thanks!

Hello @AJHILL and welcome to the thread! :welcome:Congrats on booking your first Disney cruise! I am sure your entire family will have a blast; there is so much to do on board. We have a mixture of cruisers in this thread: for some, like yourself, this will be their first cruise, for some it will be their second or third, and some are veteran cruisers! Feel free to ask any questions you may have, and I am sure everyone will try to answer as best they can.

For this particular cruise, we have established a separate FE thread, as not everyone wants to participate. My sister (@PlutoDisney) and I have taken on the job of organising the FE group. On the other thread, you will find lots of information about the FE exchange, how to join, etc. Please feel free to ask if any of your questions are not answered there. The FE thread is recording all those interested in joining and participating. Once the final list is released, it will then be up to individuals as to whether they make/buy gifts for individuals or for a cabin/family as a whole. :flower1:Hope that helps. Here is the link:

Hi everyone! I am trying to get to 10 posts so I will probably just drop random questions here in regards to the cruise as this will be our first ever. TIA if you have an answer for me! Does the pool have set hours and if so what are they?

I know we went in the pool quite late last time. I think it's open until about 10pm, and probably from early. I'm not sure if it shuts early on Pirate night, but it might do, as they lay boards over the pool and create a dance floor! It's pretty cool.

Can anyone tell me what the goodbye show is? It was mentioned in another group just for the cruise itself and no one replied so making this one of my 10 posts ty!

Hi usmcgirlxo! We are fellow Wisconsinites. Go Badgers and Packers! We live near the Mitchell Airport in Milwaukee. How about you?

We are seasoned cruisers but only one on Disney so far. We have booked a shuttle from airport to hotel near cruise.
My question is about after the cruise. We booked a car upon exit from cruise so we could visit Cape Canaveral Space Center before heading to airport.
Does anyone have advice about doing this? Make sense?? too short of a time?? worth it?? Our plane leaves MCO at 7:50 PM

Have only been to Cape Canaveral in the middle of the night to watch a shuttle launch at 3am in front of a body of water with an alligator! :D Have you experienced PC car rental before - you may want to factor in time to your decision making, unless by 'booked a car' you mean you have a chauffeur for the day! :rotfl:
