No need to create groups/documents outside of this thread, everyone! Cruise Meet threads are doing just fine still managing meet and Fish Extender (FE) discussions right here on The DIS as they have since FE began (also here on The DIS) many, many years ago.

FE organizers generally need to know how many people (adults/children) are participating in each cabin with child ages for age appropriate gift giving. Other information you would like to share such as names, allergies, favorite characters, etc. is up to you. Other personal information is not really necessary. Those organizing FEs typically ask for the information to be posted in the meet thread or sent to them via a conversation message in your profile here.

Unfortunately, posts have been removed from a number of Cruise Meets threads including this one.

For those posting in this Cruise Meet thread to join a FE, since no one has posted recently about managing a FE for this cruise here on the DIS, please feel free to start the FE right in this thread.

There is certainly plenty of time to plan a FE for this cruise. All it takes is for someone to maintain a list of/for those participating which can easily be done in this thread. Cruise Meet threads have been doing it this way for years now here on the DIS. If anyone is interested in doing this, feel free to contact me for some suggestions.

Yes Zoe has done a fabulous job on myspace organizing with lists deck plans etc. And A newbie group has been created as well. Very organized in the files tab versus having to click through all these pages of threads!

No one board has an exclusive on cruise meet or FE groups. Anyone can start a thread for their cruise on either FB, Disboards, CruiseCritic, or even "Fred's vacation BBS".
None of the groups is officially sanctioned by dcl. None.

Often unpaid moderators are enlisted to enforce the policy of the boards. You get what you pay for there. The lack of tact by the mods is worrisome for sure. But should surprise no one who has lurked on the boards over the years.

I understand that the FE was originally started here, but it is a little more complicated to go through the messages here, but I for one always check both sites. But for all the new cruisers joining and a few that have been on if you can check the FB site and check to see if you are on the FE list, currently there are 4 closed groups and one open group for all new comers!!! It's really well organized and very easy to manage and understand!!! Thumbs up to Zoë!!! You have been doing a great job!!!

You are definitely on the list I have! Dringster definitely has things well organized. You are part of the dream group and I am sure someone way more tech savvy will come along with a list for you. No worries!
