August 28, 2004 "LOST AT SEA" Cruise

You all are killing me!!!:rotfl: My family thinks I've gone insane laughing so hard by myself in the computer room. You guys are crazy.

Make sure everyone has lime green on at all times and if I find you all laying around I'll deliver you back the best I can to your rooms.

Now with the magnets I know where the party people are.

See you all soon!!!!!

Carolyn

Hi everybody! It's me the other Ginny. :wave2:

I'm starting to get a mental picture of...
green mickey stickers on the floor, making a trail from the ice to the smoothie maker. Big huge pieces of posterboard with room numbers written in Sharpie...so that blurry eyes don't miss the room number. And kind-hearted children leading their parents to find food...perhaps those tot-leashes would work for this?

Speaking of booze...we usually take about a case of beer, a 12-pack of cokes, and sometimes I'll get some wine coolers or a bottle of wine. You can always supplement with the frothy drinks...but those get so darn expensive.

About two-hundred posts ago someone asked what items are not to be forgotten...well, here are some of mine.

- A highlighter (handy for highlighting activities on the Navigator).
- Either some spray room freshener or lysol (it's a week...at some point, somebody will have to have a BM).
- Some cough drops (a/c...no a/c....a/c....no a/c).
- Small bills (for shopping at the street markets)
- Post-its (great for leaving messages on the room door...or the mirror, inside the room).
- Laundry detergent, dryer sheets, and quarters.
- Koozies (especially if you're bringing your own beer).
- An emery board and whatever nail polish you've used on your toes and fingers...sand is heck on manicures and pedicures.

Cheers everybody!
Ginny D. (the other Ginny)

You know I went back tonight and read most of this thread from the beginning. It is better then a time capsule. I am going to print it out when I get back from the cruise and put it with my cruise stuff to keep. We've had happiness, sadness, sickness and too many laughs to count. Thankfully for the most part we're all here ready to start our actual journey. The first week that was counted that I could tell was 54. School started, school ended, we had a blizzard in December that we worried about those cruising that week-end and missing the cruise and yet again last week we had a hurricane with the same worries.

OMG! You people have me rolling on the floor with laughter!:rotfl: But try to keep it down, okay. Some of our fellow cruisers will have to be up early for their excursions. Unlike me, who didn't book any! ;) If DCL is anything like that new show Airline some of you may not be allowed to board the boat! You'll have to sober up, or be left at the dock! I can't imagine what next week is going to bring, but I know this is going to be one vacation I'm never gonna forget! Thanks all for making my night! Kathy :wave2:

MaryAnne...Wow, Maybe I will TRY to read it again, Interesting, what a year brings in a life of many. I can't wait to meet all of you, and hopefully we will really run into each other on board.

GinnyD...Thanks for the reminders, anyone else have anything to add as must haves?

Joanna

Last night I was just telling DH that this Friday will be the VERY LAST "official weekly countdown" on our thread!!! So, this is the end?!?! That's a strange feeling.....I've been doing the weekly countdowns for over a year now. Our limo is picking us up at 9am next Friday morning....I will try and get online fast so I can type a final "Zero weeks to go" countdown, in case anyone is still home waiting to depart. (Who will still be here next Friday morning???)

You know, we *could* always keep this thread going once we've gotten back from the cruise!! :sunny:

Good Morning Friends!!

I had to go to bed a little early last night. Once my spelling starts to go I know I'm down a couple of quarts of sleep. When I read all the posts from last night I had tears streaming down my face from laughing so hard. I can just picture all of us in metallic clothes being pulled to the magnets of any DISers cabin!! Probably the funniest thing of all is that it sounds like none of us are really big drinkers and probably after two or three we'll be needing those DIS kids to escort us home LOL.

Needless to say, it's been great passing these past months with all of you. I feel like we are all very similar people which in a way is kinda ironic. All of you have such a great sense of humor too which will surely make our cruise great fun! So looking forward to it now. We leave a week from today,

Do we have a writer in our group (Mary Anne?) Because this sounds like it could be an awesome novel.... Strangers meet on a cruise forum, create a drunken, ruckus on board and wind up on stateroom arrest, and ultimately make friendships of a lifetime........

Sandy - Congrats on the upgrade WOO HOO!!

Mary Rose - very well said. I totally agree - it has been a pleasure talking with all of you - and I am really looking forward to meeting everyone onboard. As for lifelong friendships.. certainly a possibility. I met a girl from New Orleans on a parents place website for moms having babies in May 1998... we still talk online all the time and she has come to visit me several times.

Im down to 1 day and hours here... cant wait!!!

My husband had the nerve to bring home work last night so I missed the boards last night. But after reading all the posts I am over here LMAO! My DS age 6 keeps asking what is so funny!

I can see this now - druken DISers being led down halls to each door with a magnet and knocking... "is this my room??".... Maybe Bobby should give his master magnet list to the kids so they know which rooms we belong in. Should we tip the children as baggage handlers when they get us to the rooms???? LOL

I will be here still next Friday night. We don't leave for Port Canaveral until 5am Saturday morning! After this past weekend - I really need a vacation! Getting very anxious. Hopefully this weekend most of the stores around here will be back to normal so I can finish up the cruise shopping I need to do. Otherwise I may be driving to Tampa to shop!

Still completely lost about T and J so can someone PLEASE enlighten me????

Melanie

I'll be here until 6PM on Thursday and then we are staying over night close to the airport, our plane leaves at 7:15 AM.

Can't Wait to see everyone!!!!

Lyn:sunny:  :earsgirl: :earsboy:

We will be leaving Thursday, sometime in the am, but Bobby is such a computer junkie Im sure he will be plugging in somewhere along the way. We plan on getting to the Radisson early Friday morning. We will most probably stay by the pool and try to find everyone throughout the day. Don't be afraid of the big guy with the broad shoulders covered in tatoos. He's very friendly, doesn't bite, and has a heart of gold. Just picture him crying for his injured dog.

Can't wait to meet everyone

Cindy ::MinnieMo

Cindy - What a beautiful way to describe your husband. How's Mickey doing?

Ginny - Are you the first of us to leave? I'm assuming you're going to WDW first? I'm sure there's a post about it but we've added many, many pages over the last few days and I can't easily find it. LOL

-Mary Rose

Mary Rose... I think there was one person leaving before me but I cant remember who. We are leaving our house at 3:30AM on Saturday to AC Airport for a 7AM flight. We are spending the week before at Disney/Universal and Seaworld and will head to the Radisson next friday.

Ginny

OK I have finally figured out how to find Jason and Travis! :) Excuse the blonde!

Cindy - I love the way you and Bobby talk about one another! It is just too sweet!

Anyone else panicked (sp??) about last minute packing items????

With this bunch looks like I better stop at Sam's club for the booze on the way to the port! :p

Melanie

You all are too much...kinda of reminds me of some of the parties we had at college(and that was oh so long ago!) I had to take today off from work...too much sorting and packing! (I have three suitcases packed, two more to go and then I need to tidy up the clutter so that my dear MIL can get to the kitchen to feed the cat! LOL!!!

We are flying out tomorrow evening...spending three days at Universal and then four at Disney and then on to the booze(I mean Disney!) cruise,,,can't wait to meet you all!!!

Pauline

Melanie,, I Pvt messaged you....
Ok I went to get liquor store today.. This is what I got:tongue:
.TGIF mudslide mixer 1.75 L, Master MIxers Strawberry Marg. Mix,1.5L, Arbor Mist Blackberry Merlot 1.5 L, and Wine Blanders Blackberry 1.5 L... the Strawberry Marg has >1% alcohol so I figured kids can have it too.. You have to add your own Rum to that one. I had so much fun. I didn't buy any Rum or Whiskey... They have CRUZ RUM that we got before in GC,, that was fantastic.. any one liked flavored RUMS?

Ok, enough of the drink stuff... Seriously.,, I too will miss all of you and the fun bantering we have done on here. I am hoping this is the start of some great friendship,, and maybe some reunion Cruises... Thanks for the laughs.. Remember.. I have big tips for my Cabin people... Ice is free at my cabin. I heard GINNY is still charging..:teeth:
