August 28, 2004 "LOST AT SEA" Cruise

I opt for Parrot Cay. After trying it last year, I thought it was so more relaxing to have lunch there than Topsiders on the first day.

Is there a difference in the food served/buffet at Parrot Cay and Topsiders for the first day lunch???

Melanie

We always go to topsiders... my kids cant wait to get into the Mickey Pool so we get our food and eat by the pool...

Melanie--

I was always under the belief that the food was very similar if not exactly the same. But, since I haven't actually ever eaten at Parrot Cay on embarkation day, I may be an unreliable source. :teeth:

Bobby--

I don't know if you saw it or not but I put info about your stateroom door magnets up on the front page of the Disney Magic August 28th Cruise Site. I hope you don't mind. I thought it may help spread the word as new-comers find the thread.

Not at All..

I want everyone to get one..Just need names and cabins..Or whatever they want..

This is my 100th Post...Woo Hoo

We've officially added Rcomputers to the cruise list too!

Now, we just need to get her to post on our thread! ;)

Alright Alright Jason ;-)

Here I am. Hello.
Have been lurking for a while but didn't have anything to add really. The Scavenger Hunt in Key West sounds great to us since we've been there before and have seen most of the sights. We're hoping it's something like the one we did in the Magic Kingdom a couple of years ago. We thought we were experts but learned a lot of little details that we had never noticed.
Thanks for all your work on the site, Jason. It's great.
Any more would-be scavengers out there?

Gail R:wave:

Welcome to the Thread..

Would you and your Family like a Door magnet??..

If so...Post or PM me what you want on the magnet and your Cabin Number..

Mine says...

Moran Clan
8586

Just asking if you want one for a fellow Cruiser..

Bobby

Welcome Gail!!!!

Not many of us staying at the Radisson, Went to Jason's "three circles" site and there are only 5 families staying at the Radisson. On our last cruise there were quite a few families. A small DIS meet is good for the shy ones, BUT I don't think any of those 5 are shy LOL

Can't wait until tomorrow's countdown, Believe it or not I cannot remember one week to the other. Right now I have no clue how many weeks are left, so tomorrow's countdown is enlightening for me.

Have a great night.
Joanna

Welcome Gail! :wave2:

Bobby: If it isn't too much to ask, can you make a magnet for my DH and myself that says "Terry & John" and then a magnet for each of my DSs? Their names are "Craig" and "Robby". So that'd be 3 separate magnets, all with the same cabin # though. I'd be happy to help cover the costs of the magnets. :) (My DSs last names are different than mine and DH's, that's why I thought it'd be nice for them to have their own magnets).

Parrot Cay vs Topsiders - The food is the same! We ate there first and then took the kids up to Deck 9 to swim. We eat at Topsiders every day because we are usually in swimsuits and it is too much work to change to have lunch. Only change for Bingo - hahaha! I found it to be a nice change to sit inside and have lunch on the first day.

MJasp- just added it over the weekend. I must have had a few spare minutes to browse.

Carol--

I like the new sig. too!

I just noticed that you are sticking to the same pattern as Travis and I. East-West-East-West. We also rotate ours but started with a Western.

I wonder how many repeat cruises do this? :D

Gail--

Nice to see you posting! ::yes::

I love both itineraries! Everyone asks which one do you like better? HMMMMM - let's think about this ....Is Paradise better or Paradise better???? hahaha

I do actually enjoy the extra day at sea on the Eastern though. I always find sea days to be more relaxing. Listen to me....relaxing.....nothing about me is relaxing! I like to party from morning to night. : )

You sound so much like us Carol!

We too are always being asked which itinerary we like better and, to be honest, I am usually hard-pressed to even begin to answer.

I think each has it's pros and cons. I love the extra day at sea because I enjoy the Magic so much and love being on the ship. There's just something so cool about being on a beautiful ocean liner, being pampered, and having no responsibilities at all! But, on the flip side, the Eastern seems to go faster for me because as soon as you hit that first port you're already headed home.

I love the Western ports. I think Cozumel is just tons of fun and has that party atmosphere.

Ahhh... Now I'll be too excited to sleep tonight after all this talk of the upcoming cruise!

BTW, Travis and I are usually in the clubs and such pretty late so I'm sure we'll run into ya! :hyper:

Oh good someone to stay out late with. I usually lose in the battle of when we should turn in or not. Love to dance! My biggest issue is that the clubs dancing start after 11 pm. Last cruise we spent alot of time in the Promenade lounge because there was a couple there that performed we really enjoyed - Duo Santos. It was nice to have drinks in there after dinner. A cordial or too! Ohhhh - I have "Frangelica" on my mind. I was not that thrilled with the band on my last cruise. Forget their name - it will come back to me about 4 a.m. hahaha

We saw Duo Santos on our May 1 cruise for the first time and agree that they were really good. The singer was great with the kids and the adults and had a great voice.

Travis and I would stop by before dinner and have a cocktail while watching them. You know, a pre-cocktail, cocktail! Sparkling Moments: Champagne and Strawberries one evening, Martini Night, the next... There are just so many choices! :)

Don't know if you're a fan of the Beatles but they now have a whole theme night devoted to them. They hand a huge British flag on the stage of Rockin' Bar D and have the band dressed up as the Beatles. Great songs and a lot of fun!

The Charles Marshall Band was on the May cruise. Out of the two that I've seen play, I think they are the best.

We'll back you up in the "when to turn in" debate! :) Three votes to one and you'll be closing down the clubs with us! :teeth:

Wow, we're down to SINGLE WEEK DIGITS now!! Only 9 weeks till our cruise!!! :sunny:

Jason: I love the Beatles and I'm looking forward to British night on the cruise! Do you happen to know which night this might be?? :)
