Hello Kinseysmom,

I tried to reply to your pm, but wasn't able. My daughter would love to hear from your daughter. Can you send me an email and I can email you my daughters email.

Thanks

9 more days!!!!

I can't believe it's almost time to go. I think we booked this cruise 11 months ago. I'm soooo excited! :cool1:

This is my 3rd Disney cruise and the 2nd on the Magic. This is a family reunion for my family and there will be 26 of us from Oregon & Virginia on board. Most of my family will be dressed to the hilt for the pirate party. They have purchased pirate gowns, costumes and fancy hats. It's going to be a blast! pirate:

Here are some of our plans:
We are going to visit Jimmy Buffett's Margaritaville in Key West :beach:
Swim with dolphins and the Fury Catamaran Party in Cozumel :yay:
Do some sightseeing in Grand Cayman :moped:
and the banana boat thing at Castaway Cay

Can't wait so see you all aboard!

We have had a slight change in plans due to my MIL's broken arm. We won't be doing Tulum (it would be way to much for her, and we don't want to go without her). We decided to do the Dolphin Swim in Cozumel instead. My DS13 and I will do the swim and my MIL and DH will be watching. Anyone else doing this? We have booked the 8:30 excursion.

:Pinkbounc So - what is the final final plan for the meet? What time and where?? :Pinkbounc

Hi Everyone -
I didn't actually drop off the face of the planet - we lost our Internet for a while. :guilty:

I've updated the website with information from four families. Also, updated the Meet and Greet information. If you'd like to be included in the website just send along a picture (I can resize it) and whatever information you'd like included.

My email: esteri@graenit.com (Put Cruise Pix or something like that in the subject line)

We haven't started packing yet - but we got the list pretty much finished. The guys decided last nite to wear their tuxes twice (once for Formal nite, and once for Palos - on semi-formal nite) so that they don't have to drag along suit coats. Hey, if it works for them.... Since my husband will be in mess dress he's the one who has to deal with the most problems.

Last night at dinner - we told the boys - "This time next week, we'll be eating dinner at Chef Mickeys!" They are starting to get excited, and Issac's paper chain (one ring per day) is getting really short.

We found pirate decorations at Michaels for cheap. Foamie pirate ships - good for door decorations. Look at their Halloween display. $1 per ship.

HI all- I'm cruising on the Magic in Nov. and had a question I was hoping I could get someone from an earlier cruise to help me find an answer for. In the current Passporter, there is an excursion listed in Cozumel (clear kayak and snorkel). It is now no longer offered by DCL in Cozumel. We can book it directly through the vendor via the web, but were hesitant to do it until we find out why DCL ceased working with this vendor. It may be something simple like "other ships in port the same day utilize the vendor, and since the Magic is a smaller ship, it got dropped by the vendor." Or, possibly DCL had problems with the vendor. Would someone be willing to ask for me at the excursion desk, and then PM me with the info they found out?

Regarding the Dolphin Swim in Cozumel, do you have to go for a boat/long bus ride to do this, or is it actually in Cozumel? Is that Chanakab (spelling is way off, I know!) open again, and if so, is that where you're doing it?

Is anyone Parasailing in CC? Has anyone done it---how scary is it!??

Thanks!!!

The Dolphin Swim is in Chankanaab in Cozumel. You have to take the tender, and a taxi takes you to the park which I was told is approx. 20 minutes away. We're going through DCL on the 8:30 swim.

Here's what the DCL site says about it:
Dolphin Discovery Cozumel – Begins August 30, 2006 (CZ-04)
Get up close and personal to dolphins in an interactive encounter you'll never forget. After a 20-minute taxi ride to Chankanaab National Park, take in an informative orientation and receive your lifejacket. Then, immerse yourself in three feet of water for a fun-filled 30-minute encounter where you're invited to touch and play with these gentle creatures of the deep.

Hi guys, this is docath, This is my son Michael who wants to join some of the discussion to get ready for the cruise. He is my oldest son.

Hello,

I received a PM from Kinseysmom and I have not been able to reply (something about URL's and minimum posts) Can someone send her a PM for me (spoohs) and have her send me an email so I can answer her. She wanted my DD (7) email so our daughters can write before the cruise.

Thank you

Just over a week to go! :yay:

With all of the TSA changes, I thought I would check into a drugstore in Key West that is near where the ship docks.....Just in Case. There are 2 CVS that are relatively close to the Port. One is on Duval St, the other is on Truman Ave.

You can also transfer all your digital pics from memory cards to CDS there at the Duval St. CVS.

Since we aren't bringing our laptop along, we figured its the best thing to do. The cost to burn a CD is $2.99 versus Shutters price of $14.99.

Of course you will only have one=two days worth of pics.. but its still something. We can take over 100-sometimes 200 pics a day, so its worth it to us.

I was thinking of taking advantage of this, since we are 5 days in WDW before we cruise. Almost considered buying a laptop, but this seems SSOOOOO much easier. And one less thing I have to go thru security with

My husband was worried about this, too. He wanted to bring his laptop, but I just went to Target and bought another memory card. With two 1GB cards, I can take about 2,000 pictures.

Oooh. I'm getting so excited. Started packing the carry-ons last night.

See you all at the pool!

I apologize if someone posted this elsewhere, but I can't' seem to find the answer...

Will walkie-talkies work on the ship? I would like to bring some so that my daughter who's 11 can stay in contact (and so we can communicate in Chanakaab since the family will be splitting up there). I just want to make sure since they use radio signals that they'll work onboard and in port.

Thanks!

Walkie-Talkies will work on the ship. HOWEVER, it depends on where you are in the ship. The signals tend to bounce off the metal innards of the ship. You should be ok in Chanakanab though.
