Originally the Magic and Wonder had only 12 categories. Category 1 being a Royal Suite, category 12 an inside stateroom towards the bottom.

With the Dream and Fantasy there was a recategorization of rooms which included adding a letter designation after the number. For instance, a category 4 stateroom is the largest non-concierge room. The letter designation typically refers to location so a 4A is, in theory, a better located room than a 4E (letters go from A - E).

The Dream and Fantasy do not refer to the conciege rooms by number as they did with the Wonder and Magic. A category R is a Royal Suite, a "T"is a one bedroom suite. The D & F don't have 2 bedroom suites like the W & M since they weren't popular. The pricing of a 2 bedroom was close to a Royal Suite, and most preferred to spend the extra money for the Royal so the 2 bedroom became the "red headed step child".

YES that helps a lot! I was on the wonder and dont remember the the letters A thru E. A previous post mentioned we got 8b which is Excellent!

I believe all three are Deluxe Family Oceanview staterooms, category 8B. It's pretty good if you booked an OGT.

Thank you for pointing this out. I looked it up now and was super happy to see Deluxe Family Oceanview. I totally lucked out. I was envsioning my family split on 2 different sides of the ship (considering i have 2 teens that would easily go for that).

Looks like a bunch of us will be neighbors...we were assigned 10532. Should be a lot of room for just the two of us. It's a verandah, so we are happy. I like being close to the adult pool and the spa. Will probably get rainforest passes for both of us.

You're welcome. It is pretty cool that you were able to get three rooms all together booking OGT and in such a great category too. I would think that may not happen very often.

Hello! My dd13 and I will be on the Fantasy on August 25, 2012 in Stateroom 6628! We did a VGT and got lucky with a Cat 4D. This is our 2nd cruise, and we are excited!! I look forward to seeing everyone!

Tonight we are exactly one week from the "I'm too excited to sleep" night since we fly out early next Wednesday morning so I had to post the video for those who never saw one of Disney' greatest commericals.

Another DCL fan favorite is the "Little Souvenir" Commercial.

Hi neighbor! Sorry, but we closed the FE some time ago. If you see from the front page of this thread, many are not in the FE, so there will not be that many FEs on the doors.

My DD is 10, and turning eleven a few days into the cruise. Also see the list, seems like there is many more girls than boys, and I am sure your DD will find some teen girls like her.

So excited! We will be enjoying Orlando less than one week tonight. And of course, my DD is now wearing a wrist brace, as she was hurt in the soccer tournament the other day and has to take it easy. It's always something.

I am just super excited for this trip. Our last (& only) DCL was in 2004 & our kids were just babies & don't remember it at all. So far we have been able to keep this cruise a secret from them...although I did have a small scare last week when they read a text I sent to the person coming to stay with our dog! So I told them we were trying to keep our trip a surprise but if they must know we are going over to Disney Vero Beach Resort (which is the truth) but they assumed we are staying there for the week!! HaHaHa I almost got busted-but not quite. Whew!!

Thanks Jeff..it's a great list. Helped me an enormous amount.

My Mom (the Nana listed) seems to be listed like she's a kid in the favorite characters section.

Perhaps she should be deleted from the favorite characters section all together and just listed with the family as Nana (a/k/a Janet, DGM)? Or something to that effect?
