August 25 2012

:woohoo: I am so happy to announce our family will be on this cruise. Last year on the Dream we contemplated it but decided to wait. Then prices kept going up and up... So we decided to do something else. Having just sold our first house and buying our "dream" home, I was thinking something low key. Two months ago, we booked the Dream for the 29th, but as dh was about to pay it off last week, I decided to cancel....boy am I glad I did. I just happened to be on disney cruise today and saw an amazing rate for this cruise and booked it. Then I just had to call dh, who is in San Diego working, and let him in on the good news. :lmao: We haven't told the girls yet...thinking about telling them Sunday night at our father's day dinner...:rolleyes1 Anyway, I just don't know where to begin again with just 74 days. SO EXCITED!!! This cruise will be me, dh, dd (just turning 10 on August 12), and dd (turning 6 on September 8).

Still lots of staterooms available. I can't believe that an inside room cost almost $400 MORE than an oceanview and the verandah is only $90 more than an inside, and 77 square feet bigger! Looking good for a not so full ship, unless DCL starts running some really good specials (Kids Sail Free, residents discounts, DVC special pricing). That would suck for me, I'm VGT so all sales final.

Palo is awesome. I like their brunch perhaps even more than their dinner (but it's really close!!). I also have booked Remy for this trip and I'm still unsure if I'll keep my reservation, not so much the cost but because I'm hearing dinner is 3-4 hours. Not sure I want to spend that much time eating.

As far as your reservation goes, I would go to Palo once you get on the ship to see about a reservation...I bet you will be able to get one.

Palo Vs Remy

My father's bday is on August 30th. I tried to book Palo as he loves Italian food, but it wasn't available. I booked Remy instead. The difference between the two is insane. 20 for Palo, 75 for Remy. As I am a first timer, I hope it's worth it!

welcome! :dance3:

Welcome! :welcome: My DD will turn 11 on the cruise. Seems like there will be alot of kids and many girls around the same age. We are so excited to be on our first DCL saiiling. Already thinking of booking a dummy cruise when on board.

We have Remy booked for the 26th. We went to V&A at Grand Floridian for our 30th anniversary and that lasted 4 hours. We really enjoyed a relaxing evening. No one is trying to rush you out of there and it gives you time to talk or just sit and enjoy eachothers company. I booked for 8pm originally, but when I thought of finishing at 11pm or later I went back in and moved it up to 6:30pm instead. That should give us time to walk the decks for a little before going to bed.:thumbsup2 You aren't eating the entire time if it like V&As. There is a little time between courses to sit and relax.

Thank you for the update with Remy. I just have a four year old and I was worried about leaving him at the childs center for four hours, lol.

For those experienced cruisers, what is the earliest time you would book your flight for going home? I am taking the DCL transfers back to the airport.

Out of 12 Verandah catagories 11 have at least 5-8 cabins available (this does not include the 8 available concierge cabins which also are available) Doing the math, it seems there are about 50-80 verandah cabins still available on our cruise. Didn't check the other catagories. On a ship this size, though, that is probably not a high percentage and if they don't go they may end up being upgrades for someone. Here's hoping for some pixiedust:

Ok getting really excited now. Finally paid on Friday so had 2 days to book palo dinner and brunch before the rush. Since I haven't been on much lately. I am trying to read back. Are we having any type of disboard meet? Any activities planned besides FE for the group? How excited is everyone getting?

Does anyone know if they have the dine and play option on the Fantasy? We are actually thinking of switching our dining time to late but was wondering if they had this on the fantasy. I have read about it being on the magic and wonder. TIA

Oops welcome:banana::):):)
Welcome aboard!!!!

Ok, so the Fish Extender Exchange is officially closed. Thank you all so much for all the info. There are still a few holes that we need to fill in before we can make a master list and get it out to everyone.

This is the up to date list (I am sure I have missed something but just let me know (again :-))

Once all the highlighted items are in we can make a final count and copy this out to everyone. Looks like a nice big group, better bring an extra suitcase!!

The highlighted kids are missing their favorite character, if they do not have a fav. just let me know and I will add in Minnie or Mickey.

Highlighted stateroom means I do not have your stateroom number, if you have a gaurantee then let me know and I will put that in and we will figure that out closer to the 25th.

Thanks Christine,
Please delete Lynn G. That's our duplicate and the Lynne G. is the right entry, though no stateroom assigned yet. We are so excited about the FE and the cruise. Still deciding what we could make, buy and haul!

Hopefully those with the VGT?IGT/OGT (like us) will know our stateroooms before we sail, so we can let the FE know where we'll be.

Can't wait!

we dont' have our stateroom number yet, and Ethan likes the Muppets, they count as Disney now, right?! ;) Can't wait for this cruise!!!! We are in Daytona Beach right now, and just missed being able to drive down to PC to watch the ships leave...sad that we couldn't get our fix in!!

Thanks for the quick replies, got the updates and fixed the multiple listing, sorry about that.

So for the FE I count 33 families and 51 kids.
Just a reminder that it is expected that there is one gift for each family (cabin), anything else is ok but not expected, we do not want this to become too much work and we lose the fun of it!!

Thanks everyone who has updated their information. We only have to hear from a few more families.

I think the recommended time is after noon. I have flown out as early as 11:30 and made it in plenty of time. We are flying at 10:45 am this time, so we'll see, but I think it should be okay. If you have the early dinner seating, you have to eat breakfast early and I think everyone has to be off the ship by 9:00 am, but I'm not 100% sure of that. I know we've been off the ship by around 8:00 am the times we've cruised and made it to the airport with plenty of time to spare.

Thank you for the update with Remy. I just have a four year old and I was worried about leaving him at the childs center for four hours, lol.

Thank you... Southwest has a flight out at 10:40 am. I want to book it so bad! But, I also don't want to miss our flight! What time did you arrive at the airport?
