We had this cruise booked ages ago, and now just 48 hours away from being able to do the online check in. Its our first cruise DW, me, and DD8 and DD5. We are doing 4 days in the park prior to the cruise. Staying at the Dolphin hotel. We have a car service transfer. On the boat we are in SR10592. Lots of thanks to all the folks who have posted tips and advise here. Although its our first cruise I feel like I know what to expect. Looking forward to a great trip.

Welcome aboard!! DD will be 8 on the cruise... Your DD will have lots of company if she goes to kids club and in pools!

My DD is more into Selena and the other pre-teen Disney shows than any of the Princesses.

On the FE list on page 1 you have 3 cabins listed. Are all participating in the FE? If so, what characters do the other kids like?

FYI Ortley Beach is a great place, theres a surf club there that serves a wicked Sunday Brunch, and the kids can play on the beach, as you watch them. Thanks for the shout out.

My DD Sarah says, Hello to Erin. Thanks for the smily face, right back at ya!

Funny thing is that my parents house is on Harding avenue about 6 blocks from the surf club, their house is on the oceanside. I have probably been to every restaurant and bar in the local area, but for whatever reason never in the surf club which is literally walking distance.

Sarah would like to know Erin's birthday day. Sarah's is February 13th.

By the way, Sarah is Skyping with another friend who is also 8. and going on this cruise. Maybe one day Sarah and Erin could do the same.

Erin is Sept 9th. She actually turns 8 right after we get back. As she reminded me right after I said she was 8. She is downstairs right now, very excitedly telling Mum she has just a made a new friend.

Hi all....getting very excited. Our fe information is correct. Ds is 10 and still loves Mickey mouse and all the pixar movies. Dd is almost 8 and still loves the princesses...Cinderella and Rapunzel mostly. Neither is picky and would love the surprise of anything everyday. Can't wait to meet all of you.

Figuring out if I want to stay up too. Thinking of 1 excursion and the BBB, but if I don't stay up, will I loose out on everything? Hmmm. And, since I am driving a rental from Universal, not staying up to 3, and will risk till I get up in the morning to see my port time.

Yes, all of the Cabanas are booked. Since you will be on DCL transfers from MCO like us, you won't need a boarding time

I was poking around on the DIS site and found this new police posted as of April 25, 2012. Did you know? I understand why they did this. Probably folks not tipping. I just don't like tipping in advance...no incentive to provide magical service because you are going to get the suggested amount either way. It does say you can make modifications at Guest Services, so if you want to decrease for not so hot service or increase for exceptional service I guess you can still do that. What do you all think of this new policy?

Disney Cruise Line has instituted a new procedure for gratuities on all their ships. On embarkation day, guests' folios will automatically be charged for the suggested gratuity amounts for Server, Assistant Server, Head Server and Stateroom Host/Hostess. Guests can still add pre-paid gratuities at the time of booking or when making their final payments. If this isn't done, a letter will be given at check-in explaining the automatic gratuity payments. Modifications to the amount can still be made at the Guest Services Desk.
