Palo dinner open too, every night in 30 min intervals from 6pm to 8:30pm

Tonight my family (Group of 14) is having a DCL vacation meeting:) Topics on the agenda:

1) Pay off your cruise:thumbsup2
2) Consideration of getting family T-shirts for the group:confused3

And the planning continues...

I wanna see our countdown dip under 100 days.

Philly, How did the family meeting go?

My family is trying to focus me on our end of July trip first (Universal Portofino Bay for the week mixing in Universal Studios, Lego land, Sea world, Kennedy space center, .. basically all the other non Disney attractions that they never saw before)

My thoughts are more cruise centric

Feel like I haven't checked in for AGES! Sorry about that! It's crazy how one week kinda flies into the next. My schedule has been so hectic that I can't remember spending an evening at home relaxing since the beginning of the year. It should slow down in a few weeks and then we can concentrate on nailing down some excursion etc. My DD (12 on the cruise) has already made a friend from the DIS boards and is thrilled to meet her and her sister on the cruise. If anyone else wants to Skype with her she would love to make new friends. Just PM me and I will pass it on to her.

I have been saving bits of information from these boards in order to figure out what we would like to do for excursions. It's so hard to choose!

Just pulled out the kids passports to see how many have expired - looks like the oldest four have to get new ones. This means we have to get their birth certificates out, get pictures, drive 30 miles to the nearest facility (one drawback of living out in the country), wait, wait some more, and then maybe get them back correct - I've had to send them back before. How can you misspell a name when I filled out the form online and you have their birth certificate?!

Also, I've never understood the five year rule for kids, seems like it could be more of a sliding scale. Our oldest (who is 12) still looks enough like her seven year old picture that you can see it is her. Our four year old however looks nothing like his 6 month old picture!! I don't see the logic here - of course it is the government......

On the plus side, I've got all our excursions booked, reservations made and special events planned! The DCL shore side concierge staff is great, looking forward to meeting the staff on the ship. Think they’ve ever had to deal with a family of eight?? :scared1::eek::scared1: All my kids are angels, I promise.....:rotfl:

The family meeting went well. My DB and family just sent off for their passports today:thumbsup2

It looks like we may not fly on the same airline because some want Southwest and others will be flying US Airways.

We will all be at the MCO Hyatt the night before and taking DCL transportation:)

We will most likely be wearing lime green t-shirts to the port:thumbsup2 We are working out the theme and the graphics.

We are also staying at the Hyatt MCO the night before and hope to catch one of those 10-10:30a buses to the port and board ship ASAP.

Just got our kids passports renewed too. Very fast, took 2 weeks. Kills me that I had to pay an agent fee for each kid to verify they are ours. And, like you, dd's first passport had her name spelled wrong. They don't always read!

Since we are first timers, we hope the few things we want to reserve will be available for us.

Can't wait for summer. This cloudy week-end made some gray days.

We haven't book our airfare yet but we hope to arrive at MCO around 11:00 a.m. on Friday:thumbsup2

Even though this will be our fifth cruise, we probably won't sleep much Friday night, so we are going to DTD to eat and hang out.

Hopefully we will see you and your family in line while checking in at MCO:goodvibes

I'll join in! We just booked this! I have always, always wanted to take a Disney Cruise! But every time we went to price it, I just couldn't see the value, when I seemed to get so much more if I just went to WDW. Well...DH and I have been working hard, and combined we have lost 110 pounds. We decided it was time to treat ourselves! So...we booked the Fantasy!

It's me, Carrie, 37...an attorney at one point, now stay at home mom,
Dave, 42, my partner in crime
Ethan, 9, and a fan of all things Disney, just like his mama!

Dave and I were married at the Wedding Pavilion, and love all things Disney.
I'm feeling a little overwhelmed about the cruise thing though. Can plan a trip to WDW in my sleep, but this is a whole new ballgame! But I'm up for it!

Can't wait to read through the rest of this thread and get to know some of our shipmates!!

Welcome!!

Its gonna be a great cruise. The cruise is easier to plan than WDW.

Thanks! Unfortunately, Dave is already disappointed...he had his heart set on a Cabana! Guess I just have to hope someone decides they don't want to spend the money and cancel before the cruise! When our window opens up, going to check regularly!

We are thinking of doing the Rainforest hike on St. Maarten. Anyone have any insight on this?

:welcome:cjnix29 and family! WDW is fun and fun planning, but the cruises are just as fun. Have fun researching cruising.

I also realized that I didn't put ages when I requested to join the FE group. Dave, 42, Carrie 37, Ethan 9
Looking forward to figuring all that too! So much FUN!!!!!

I check everyday on the port canaveral webcam to see what the progress is on the new terminal 6 accross from the DCL terminal. At first I didn't think that they had a shot of completing it by July 2012, but now it looks likes it will be completed.

I wonder if both terminals will be in use at the same time because it looks pretty tight over in the turn basin:confused3

Any thoughts???
