August 22nd 2009 Western Carribbean Anyone?

maybe we could have a ladies only tea...my DH doesnt really follow any sport...actually, there is no 'really' about it...apart from the odd game of rugby hes not particularly interested...but i am fairly sure he can amuse himself if needs be..i hardly saw him on our last cruise..

I don't want to exclude the guys if they want to come. My thing is DH hates tea, and I don't want to ditch him if he would be lonely ;);). I can't go by our last cruise, DD didn't catch on to the clubs until mid-week, so I actually spent most of my time with her.

DA, good luck with those last two exams. I've been out of school more than 20 years, and I still have nightmares that I am going into finals, but never went to the class. I wake up in a cold sweat! When do those stop?

Today I made the largest single charge to a credit card in my life. On the positive side, I have been saving to cover most of the charge, I have a bunch more frequent flier miles, and I am all set for Palo reservations Friday.

For Disney Cruise veterans, what else do you think I should look at booking that will likely fill up before the cruise?

It seems all that remains is booking a few reservations, buying theme park tickets, and trying to patiently wait 98 more days for my dream vacation...

I would be in for tea so long as they can provide a good Irish Breakfast blend. Now, I would not want to intrude on the ladies gathering, if it were to be a private affair. So I will keep my options open depending on the group decision.

DEFCON has not been on the agenda for me as of yet, but there is no telling what the future holds.

Did any of you see the three new StarTrek fragrances. There are three: Tiberius and Red Shirt for the men and Ponn Farr for the ladies. I am not a strong enough Trekker to get the references, but when I saw the inside jokes, they are pretty good.

If this got answered, I did not see it. Guessing "quids in" is a reference to your willingness to part with a few Greenbacks or Looneys or Quid in support of a cause.

Congrats Brian!:thumbsup2 I hope you got everything that you wanted!

I just finished mine - no problem getting Palo Dinner for day 4 & Brunch for day 6!
Plus I was able to schedule DW the "Alone time for one" package at the Spa Villa the morning of our first day at sea - but Shh:ssst: that one is a surprise.

Thanks, Bryan. I got Brunch on day 3, dinner day 4, and tea day 6. I was hoping to sit for dinner as we are leaving Grand Cayman, but they don't have any seatings before 6. Maybe we'll still be able to see Georgetown in the distance when we are seated...

I also booked a couple of excursions at Castaway Cay to make sure I got the times I wanted. We will take our time booking other excursions.

Brian & Bryan I have to say that your wives are going to be blown away with all of the time and planning you both have put into this trip!! You are really making it a dream vacation!! I'm really excited for both of you!! (and your families)

OK, I'm going to try catching up. (My DD's show week is over)!!

Tink RN Welcome!! The more the merrier!!! :flower3:

Donald Applecore Hang in there!! This time next week, you'll be celebrating!!

Maria Tea at Palo sounds great to me! I know a lot of ideas have been thrown around about what we would like to order. If we decide on tshirts, we may want to consider a company that allows us to upload an image and order individually. We did that on a cruise we were on last year and it worked out great. Some people ordered t shirts, some ordered tanks, and you could choose between a standard style or a more tapered ladies style, etc. The company we used was called Cafe Press. Also, I contacted Dana about the bracelets she ordered for us. She says hi to you and Dave. I'll forward you the information. They have bracelets and lanyards. I know you are over seas, so I'll help out however you'd like. No point in having them shipped to England to be flown back to the US!!

Aurora's Mommy I like the way you think! The men to Diversions and the ladies to Palo!! Sounds like a deal I'll have no trouble getting my DH to agree to!!

I am going to be in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean when Palo reservations open up, so I will need to have a plan! Can my TA make them for me? I want to book some spa time for Jack and I too. I heard that Rasul room is pretty romantic, if you'd like it to be. I am hoping it's  and not :rotfl2: I've never thought about mud being romantic!! Anyone heard anything about it?

Sorry so long!! Happy Mother's Day to all of the moms!!

Terri

I would love to be part of brunch or tea at Palos. Let me know what date and time. Never did either before.

Also, did someone decide on where we are all meeting.

I am going to have to keep notes so I don't forget where to go and what to do on all these cruises. I am starting to find it to be stressful.

Hopefully, I will meet up with TheFatMan'sWife and follow her to the meets on each cruise. lol

I am so stressed, my first cruise excursion bookings opened and I can't decide what to do. :confused3

Welcome :welcome:

Have you been on the Wonder? or is it your 1st Disney cruise?
Added you to our list of who will be onboard. If you want to add anything(names, hometown etc) PM me

T-shirts ? are some of us in? or will it just be me...or should we all just wear something lime green ( I have that already!!:)) or something Disney ( I have that too...:))

Lanyards....unfortunatly too pricey to gey here in rip off britain. and minimum order was 100...which, by my calculation would be ALL of us ...although more appear to be joining us!

We have been busy this w/e making door magnets...oh the fun:laughing:
We have done loads...lol...but then we do have 3 doors to decorate ( 'doors' love...not 'floors' :rotfl2:) Our fridge looks like...well..a rather over decorated stateroom door...but spread over the 3 ..and the insides...and over the week...should be good! Now if my FEs would just arrive from luvthe ears my life would be complete...:woohoo: I really should get out more I know!

Ya know, I almost was beginning to think we should call this cruise the British Invasion (hey wayneg, Maza, et. al.!), but now I'm beginning to think it should be the Philly Invasion! There are quite a few "Philly area" on board. We're in Bucks Co., where abouts are you all? And tell your Justin to look for Jim, he is also (already) 10.

I'm in Wild, Wonderful WV this week. I've been travelling alot for work this year (well, at least for me), but this is the last trip scheduled. This year is going so fast, can't believe Memorial Day is a little over two weeks away, the kids are out of school in a little over a month, and the cruise is a little over 3 months away. Yipee!

Hope all the Mom's had a great day this past Sunday!

Hello everyone! Just to answer a few questions and ask one... Yes I am a registered nurse, we live 25 minutes out side Philly in Levittown, and what are FE gifts?:confused3

This will be our 5th Disney cruise, never met another British family onboard yet, not many do the cruises as they are not widely sold here. With the poularity in cruising I am suprised Disney still don't sell through many of our travel agents.

How many nurses do we have onboard now? Its a nurse invasion:rotfl:
FE is Fish Extenders, about 16 families taking part so far, a little gift exchange. You spend as little or as much as you want, people usually give something related to their local area or Disney(or both) Either a gift for each member of the family playing or a family gift. The link shows pics of FE people have made, you can also buy them on Ebay or just hang a Disney plastic bag, DMIL is going to make us one(I hope)
Will update website today with your details, the red FE on the website shows who is participating in the exchange.

In case I didn't mention it, my wife is an RN. Which is good - when I get sick she bosses me around ("Get back in bed", etc.) until I get better.

My mother was a medical technologist, which meant that any time I coughed growing up I could expect a throat swab and a blood test.

Hey everyone,

Here's our stateroom number: 8030.

Sorry I've been MIA for a while. Life got extremely busy in the past few weeks. Chaotic, but a good chaotic.

The biggest news is that I was asked to be assistant coach of DD's softball team. The league has been after me for years to be a coach but circumstances always prevented me from doing it.

This year I'm able to do it and I have to admit its been a lot of fun.

Girl Scouts is keeping me busy as well. We did our tent camping trip two weeks ago. It was fantastic. The weather was great and we had a really relaxing time. We actually ran out of time before we ran out of things to do.

One thing we learned is cooking over an open fire takes waaaay longer than you think. One of the families lent us their portable gas grill to use but we couldn't figure out how to use it properly so instead we cooked our dinner over a wood fire.

Another lesson.....voices carry when its quiet at night. We were split up into different tents and some of the girls were talking about each other and those of us in different tents could hear every word.

And of course.....pitch the tent on a flat surface. The entire field where we camped is on a slight incline and everyone kept sliding down in their sleeping bags all night long.

I can't believe its the middle of May already. We paid off the balance for the cruise.

I've never done Palo brunch so I'm really interested. If we get a group together I can call DCL and probably be able to secure a private room. Just let me know which Sea Day we want to book.

By the way.....DH is British and we met while living in the suburbs of Philly so sounds like we'll fit right in with this group.

I think the Swine flu will be a thing of the past by the end of August. I will be extremely bummed if we can't make it to Cozumel.

Made reservations for this cruise last week and I am already jumping out of my skin!

This will be our first cruise of any kind - it'll be me, DW, DD13, DS12 and DS8. I am getting a little stressed out right now - having never been on a cruise before, much less a Disney cruise, and checking out these boards, I have an awful lot to learn between now and August 22, I can see that.

Can anyone give me a summary of the important stuff that I've missed in this thread and maybe save me the time of reading 70 pages of posts? Please forgive me if that sounds pushy - I've gathered that there's a meet at 2:30 on the promenade deck - is that on Saturday? I'm sure we will attend that meet, it'll be nice to meet a bunch of fellow cruisers right off the bat. I also see a Fish Extender group being organized, we'll probably pass on that this time around. ANything else? I see references to T-shirts and stuff too.

And how is it that some of you have already made Palo reservations? I thought the window for making reservations only opened up 90 days before departure (around May 22?), or 75 days for first-timers like myself.

Thanks in advance for any help - I think I might need alot of it before I'm through, but the DISboarders are so helpful it definitely relieves alot of stress in the planning.

Welcome aboard:welcome:

Have you seen page on my website? click here
I will add you as soon as I get some time, let me know any info you want adding, names, hometown etc.
I would like to try give you a summary of whats going on but I have to be up for work in 5 hours and still need to do a few things before bed. Hopefully one of the others will have time.
