August 2025 Refurbs - Haunted Mansion down on 8/9 for overlay installation - Radiator Springs Racers down 8/18

David has chimed in. Looks like they are revamping the e-stop process. Changing the program so when they have an issue, they don't necessarily have to shut down the ride and evacuate. Supposedly stoppages now will only be a few minutes instead of hours. This is also what is planned for BTMR. So the refurb lengths might be similar. When Incredicoaster goes back online, it might give us some insight to how long BTMR will be down for.
Interesting, thanks for the update. There are some things I question that he says, but this is one area I find his sources to be legit. The line length wait estimates I find to be helpful. He also recently said that when the Bravo elevator on Guardians finishes, they will go back to Alpha (I think) then have to do another second refurb on each elevator. Still a ways to go. That Guardians line is absolutely brutal with only 2 elevators, even with LL.

Admittedly I only pay close attention to refurbs when I’m planning a trip, but is it common for Disneyland to throw a planned refurb on the schedule last minute (meaning less than the 30 or so days the calendar shows)? The BTTM upcoming refurb talk isn’t super out of the blue, they filed a permit for it, so Disney clearly has a plan in place. FB seems to think it will go down in August but all of August is already on the refurb calendar without BTTM. I would have figured they already had a date in mind and would have added it by now? I feel like they might be waiting for Incredicoaster to be up or RSR (depending on which goes longer).

It has gone both ways. Disneyland has suddenly added to the refurb calendar with less than 30 to 45 days and they have also moved up a reopening date. I do not think Big Thunder will be down in August. I would not worry. I suspect Big Thunder will go down in late Sept/early October for 2 to 3 months.

I’m going in a couple days so no worries for me! I just nerd out about this stuff when I’m in trip planning hyperfixation mode and enjoy watching the patterns and talking about it 😊

It will definitely be interesting to see how the rest of the year goes with the various big refurbs!

Sure they have a permit filed but there's a lag time. There was a permit filed for Tomorrowland Theater back in June. They're just now getting to what's going in there which is the Fantastic Four meet and greet.

That’s why I was curious if an August refurb was still possible, I figured there would be lag time and it would be more of a Sept/Oct or later thing.
