If you are going to flip your trip, you might see if there any return flights out of Burbank Airport.

What we actually ended up booking is:
8/1 Fly from East Coast to Vegas
8/2 Omega Mart
8/2 pm Fly into John Wayne
8/3 CA
8/4-8/6 DL
8/7 fly back to Vegas
8/8 fly back home

It worked out so much better flight-wise, and my son has been dying to do Omega Mart so he sees it as a decent trade-off for skipping Universal Hollywood

For those going in August did you buy the 70th ticket deal tickets? I'm waiting to buy until I have saved up more gift card money but worried this offer may sell out. Does that happen?

I bought the 4-day one-park-a-day Anniversary Ticket, but we purchased it through Undercover Tourist. We saved $100 total that way (for four people)

We will be there Aug 5, 6, 8 and 9 using the 4-day one-park-a-day Anniversary Ticket. We were supposed to go in May but the wife broke her ankle. When we moved the trip back we added a rest day for her and the family we are traveling with will also be 7 months pregnant at that time. We are flying into Ontario and out of Long Beach just based on flight times and ticket prices on SWA.

Still haven't decided which parks which days yet as we will have two four year olds with us so might focus on DL more. My little family went in Nov 2022 and Dec 2023 but the other family with us will be first timers.

Staying at Howard Johnson for the water park & pool to give the two kids something for our rest day but on trips past preferred the Hampton Inn near the Toy Story lot.

I hope to at least get one day in DL with Haunted Mansion up and running before it goes down for it's overlay!

Oh wow @mdmost, that is disappointing (if true). I know SG is pretty good, but has been wrong before. I guess it saves my family $60 or whatever since we always get sucked into buying the LL for it, but it's a fun ride!

My husband and I are planning our next visit August 13 - 16. We were last at DLR in March when we upgraded our 2-day tickets to Enchant Magic Keys. I have been in a hectic season at work, so we haven't had a chance to go back yet, but I'm planning this visit for the tail end of the Summer & 70th Celebration. The goal is to enjoy the nighttime entertainment, especially PTN! And eat all the summer snacks. We're driving from Phoenix on Wednesday the 13th, so we'll have 3 nights. We plan on getting a dining package for Fantasmic one night and catching PTN another night. The countdown is on - 10 weeks from tomorrow!

Oh boy, RSR being closed might be a deal breaker. One of the main reasons for going to DL this year. I'm glad I saw this, we might be able to move up a weekend and do 8/15-19 instead.

ETA: Made the switch in dates. Love the flexibility of booking with SW points! Got Park Vue Inn dates changed too and saved about $50.

Who know a month can mean 24 days or can mean 45 days it all depends how the construction goes.

Tentatively scheduled for 8/5 to 8/10 (with 8/6 to 8/9 being our park days)!

Tentatively because we’re huge Incredicoaster fans and it just went on the refurb schedule starting 7/28, so anything longer than ~10 day closure means it’ll be down our entire trip.

Hopefully it reopens before or during. If not, we have a couple other options and can shift dates (current top options include exactly a week later, or two weeks earlier).

This trip is a big milestone birthday bonanza for myself and two of my daughters (we turned or will be turning 40, 16, and 13 this year!) so it’s worth moving dates a bit to make sure one of our “must dos” is open!

Ha! I’m in mobile mode so I can’t see signatures, but I was curious how outdated that was I’ll have to switch over and edit that!

Will be arriving 8/19 and flying out 8/25. Son's 3rd birthday is 8/24. So 3 park days (Costco deal!) and planning Oogie Boogie Bash on the 8/21 while he is still free to get in! And then Lego Land on his actual birthday.

Bummed that Radiator springs will most likely be closed right before our trip. Son will probably just be slightly too short but stinks for older sister.

Incredicoaster, Storyland Canal Boats, Casey Jr, Star Tours, and Haunted Mansion all might be down while we're there the first week of August. Fairly annoying when you also combine that with the Matterhorn being down.

Going Aug 3-6 and haven't been since 2017. Grew up in SoCal and went to Disneyland so many times growing but moved away as an adult 22 years ago. Been going to Disney World mostly since moving away but it's not the same as Disneyland. Staying at the Grand Californian and looking forward to being able to walk to the parks.

I hear you. We didn't really have a choice on the timing of this trip and originally were going in early June until things kept that from happening. I looked today at the calendar and we're good for the Haunted Mansion at least through August 2nd. It should go down on August 4th but maybe Incredicoaster goes back up. I think Star Tours will go up some time in July, they may just not have pinned down when that was. I wish Disney would just spell it out but maybe they need to leave it open ended so they don't over promise and under deliver. I hope the Incredicoaster is just something simple. We normally start our morning at it so that will change our plans. We have park hoppers and are there till the 6th so hopefully it comes back up at some point while we're there.

I love Haunted Mansion too. It's my favorite attraction so we're definitely going to double and triple up on it for our August 2nd and 3rd days. We are going 4.5 days and we normally do a day at DLR and then the next day at CA but the HM going down meant we had to do two straight days. The good thing is everyone's favorite attractions are all open. HM for me, Big Thunder for DD15, Space Mountain for DD17, and Small World for DW.

August 3rd calendar shows Haunted Mansion is still up. The hours for the parks are undetermined right now on the app but not on the Disneyland website as that is the morning of the CHOC Walk. DLR should open at 9am that morning based on last year's day with the same walk. My teens will happy to have one morning to sleep in till 7am. The Disneyland site shows 8am though as the opening time. California Adventure shows it is opening at 8:30 on the Disneyland site but nothing on the app.
