*August 2024 Check-in Thread*

I am here and having a great time!!! The F! Premium package was great. Tonight WOC dessert party. Not that crowded at all. Hot s nice woods courtyard/pool view room at GCH. Carthay Circle dinner was great. Blue Bayou waterside table lunch was awesome.
I will post more. When I am home I will post a detailed trip report.
Glad you're having a great time and hope it continues! I am super interested to hear your take on the F! Premium package. I am always tempted to try to secure a reservation, but I worry about the view. Anyway, enjoy the rest of your trip!

Did you book the woods/courtyard view or did they upgrade you from a standard view? Sounds like you’re having a wonderful time! We arrive on Monday and have similar dining reservations, and I cannot wait!

I am having a great time. The attendance was not bad on Tuesday, Wednesday a little busy on Thursday. Friday was very light. Loved the WOC Dessert party. Using LL a lot and buying it for RR and RS. Doing quite a lot. 4 more nights and 5 more days..my trip is half over today. Taking the Halloween tour today.

Yes it is a slight upgrade. Still a WC view but including the pool! I booked WC view …my room was ready at 11am Tuesday when I got there!

5 am and heading to the airport-first time flying into LGB. I managed to get the two 14 year old boys out of bed at 4:30 so off to a good start! Din Tai Fung reservations tonight and DL/early entry tomorrow. I’ve hardly planned for this trip-I retired and flew a kid to college on the same day last week-so will have to plan on the fly.

Whoop! And I just snagged a 3:00 Trader Sam’s for this afternoon. I’d been looking for this one since booking window opened and had resigned myself to walking up.

Hi, Just got back 8/19-8/24 We stayed at GCH and we booked Standard and got upgraded to Pool View Room 4016 and I dont think I could ever stay in any other room. Room was ready by 1pm . We did Blue Bayou Fantasmic and the food was good and WOC table 27 excellent view.. I felt the park was crowded luckily with had MultiPass and things kept breaking down so we got a lot of the passes that you can chose the ride you want. Friday was the least crowded day until nighttime.
The 1 thing that bothered me was so many strollers and Scooters. And for some reason I always got hit by them. And people are in their own world and just rude.

I am here since August 20 and leave Wednesday August 28. The crowds have been moderate. Today Monday was the worst but Mondays are. The scooters are out of control here I agree. Loved Oogie boogie!!!! I am on waiting for the Matterhorn and I love LL.

There seems to be a lot of ECV here now. Plus the walkways are narrower than WDW.
I think there are more ECV here than last year during my August 2023 trip.
We just got back Sunday and there are way more then we remembered too. And a lot of people driving way too fast on them. I almost got hit by one by Pirates over the bridge. She ran the corner so fast and almost got me head on, I was able to jump to the side but it was scary! With all the little kids running around, they make me nervous. I think the narrow walkways do make it worse. We also had several people come up behind us in LL for Rise in ECVs and ask to cut ahead saying they needed to. We just let them because they were in ECVs and assumed they did need to get ahead for a reason, but then they parked the ECVs on the side and walked the rest of the way to the ride. It was interesting. I think most people need them, but it did seem a few were using them for other reasons then need.

Great first 24 hours! Our VDH room was ready before 10 am and it’s just gorgeous. Love all the theming of this hotel so much. We did some exploring and pool time, drinks and snacks at Trader Sam’s and dinner at Din Tai Fung. Boys hit the gym last night and I crashed early. This morning, made it to park for rope drop. Initially kind of a bust-with Space Mountain down, then Pinocchio and Snow White were also down. We did Mr Toad and then joined the enormous crowd heading to ROTR. I know that’s usually not a good way to spend morning time-but we were on the ride in 15 min and our friend was blown away.

We also arrived yesterday at GCH. We have a standard view, but I’m happy with it as it’s quiet and very near the elevator. My only complaint is the bathroom is very small and I wish there was a door on the sink area. Maintenance also needed to come fix the shower facet as the handle woudn’t stay in one position and both my daughter and I were unexpectedly scalded.

As limace said above EE was a bit of a bust with rides down but it was lovely to just walk slowly and savor the atmosphere without all the crowds. We had arrived at GCH security at 6:35am and were about 50 people back. They opened security at 6:45am and we were the first in line at the turnstiles by simply selecting one closest to Harbor Blvd. Many others just lined up closer to DTD not realizing all the turnstiles were vacant. As a result we were on of the first families at the rope for EE rope drop.

Because of the excellent advice on here I selected Indiana Jones as our first LLMP and was awarded an MEP shortly after 8am. Ironically we haven’t even needed to use it yet. We also managed to ride ROTR with only a 30 minute wait (to pre-show). So far GOTG has been our favourite ride. We have managed to get LLMP for both versions. Single rider for Incredicoaster made our wait only 10 minutes.

Just got back this morning - left LAX at midnight and got into JFK at 8:30AM this morning after 9 days and 8 nights at the GCH and the parks...Missed Pooh by 1 day but I am booking my August 2025 trip tomorrow and I am planning another trip in May...early May not sure of dates yet because I am waiting for dates from friends..all meeting there at GCH and DL for the same trip.

Trip was incredible. I will post a trip review soon. Oogie Boogie Bash was awesome. The dessert party at OBB was awesome.....loved the parade....The wicked stepmother/Lady Tremaine from Cinderella waved back at me and smiled when I waved to her....very cool.....Very tired....wish I was back there but happy to be home....the crowds well were not bad at all only Monday Aug 26 was crowded and the rest of the days were very manageable.
