We have a 1 bedroom booked at BWV and I am nervous now in reading posts that this is going to be too small for 3 adults and a teen. Usually we have better luck in finding a room during the week but this time there is more availability on the weekend and very limited during the week. Is there something going on in August the week of the 15th to the 18th? We have waitlisted a 2 bedroom but Im not confident that that will come through. Does anyone have any insight or advice? This is a short trip without flexibility on dates.

I would think a 1BR villa to be plenty of space for 3 adults and 1 teen, though I suppose that may depend on the relationships between the individuals and need for privacy. DVC rooms are running fairly tight due to the lack of vacations last year and people needing to use up their points. I'm not aware of anything else that particular week.

I noticed this too. We are going in August. I think it is because not all resorts are open.

That's my birthday week and we've been stalking the DVC listing too (currently booked at a preferred view RIV 1br but would prefer standard or studio. I just keep checking every day and there have definitely been some a good variety of options come up, but they are snapped up pretty quick. I think there are a lot of people on waitlist out there. I know I saw a 2br at BWV open up last week. You never know.

Right now, so many people have banked points expiring from last year's closure, DVC is pretty well booked this year.

I think a good time to check back might be after May 17, which is when DVC owners can use points to book a sailing on the new disney cruise ship, the Wish (at least one person has to be booked with points rather than cash, so people may cancel a trip and bank the points for the Wish sailing). Also in the week leading up to the 30 day mark, possible some may cancel when they realize Disney plans to continue to require masks all summer and there are no signs of fireworks/FP returning.

That makes sense. We are in the same boat with points and park tickets that expire in Sept. It will be my husband and I with our 18 year old and 16 year old sons. They can find any reason to argue on most days lol. I am a little worried they will a little irritable with the heat so the extra space would probably make a big difference for us! We will just keep stalking the website and keeping our fingers crossed that something comes through.
Thank you!
