August 2015!!!

Finally arrived at 6 AM this morning. We left Baltimore about 1 PM on Saturday. No problems until we got to Manassas, VA. It was bumper to bumper all the way to Richmond. We averaged about 15 mph and took almost four hours. 17 hours later, we arrived. The hotel we booked advertised 24 hour check in, so we did not notify them we were arriving early. They told us that we would have to wait until 2 pm. My kids, wife and I had just spent 17 hours in our car and they wanted us to wait until 2 PM. We immediately drove to Pop and explained our situation. They found us a room, added it to our ressie and set us up with basic grey MB's and the room was immediately available. We are checked in already for tomorrow when our package begins, our stroller is already here and we are hitting our BOG ressie at 8:05 tomorrow. Things happen for a reason. We had a great relaxing day at the resort recharging our batteries and, Jean from Haiti at the Front Desk @ Pop was amazing and understanding. The trip started out with some headaches, but is shaping up to be great. Will add some more tomorrow after our first experience with FP+.

How exciting you guys are there!!! SO happy your resort situation ended up so well after such a rough start. I'm staying Pop for the first time on my trip; let me know how you like it!

Woohoo! Magic Bands arrived this weekend! I made everyone try them on. (Left mine on all day... partly to get used to how it feels, but partly because it amused me to look down and see Mickey on my wrist!)

Just out of curiosity, how many people removed the grey border for their kids? Does it really fit better?

Were you on I-95S? We hate that stretch from just south of DC until just past Richmond. It seems like it's always an insane mess. I'm so glad you got there safely and that POP was able to accommodate you for the extra night! Yea for pixie dust!

We leave this coming Friday...will drive to Georgia, be there for the weekend, and then on Monday will drive down to WDW. My to-do list is a mile long!! Yikes! So much to do and so little time!

Last year we removed it for our 6yr but not for our 11 yr old. It fit him so much better. This year we plan to do the same. It would have fallen off it we didn't remove the extra.

I got my Magic Bands! Woo hoo! This month is going to be really crazy for me because I'm moving right before we leave, in addition to preparing for a convention I'm attending right after my Disney trip. Really looking forward to the first day of this trip so I can finally relax!
