Totally reasonable! That's why we love the end of August so much. I love to see the park decked out for Halloween. We flew down last October on Canadian Thanksgiving weekend. It was a sold out party, but totally worth it! We had a great time! This year we flew home the night the party started (labour day Monday). I was so sad, but we couldn't miss the first day of school.

Thanks for your feedback. We came home on Sunday of Labour Day weekend. I'm a teacher so we had to be home for school too

I'm a teacher too. We didn't get back to our home until 2am on Tuesday morning, but I managed to get to work in the morning. Phew!

Hi there. This will be our third time at WDW but the FIRST time we will stay onsite. We have booked CSR 18-29th and are very excited. Very happy about the lower crowds. With regards to the heat: I guess we will be frequent customers of Splash Mountain...

This just got real!

We have been wavering on the reservation we booked for late August lately. I have been peeking at airline websites since mid-Fall looking at flight options, using Delta sky miles, etc. Flight prices haven't gotten any better (not that I would expect them to), but the # of miles needed for our 2nd choice return flight just dropped!!! Which yay, means a free flight, so I guess it is now official that we saved nearly $400! Just booked our flights!!!

Yep, its official, we are going to happiest place on earth! We are travelling from Canada and meeting up with some really good friends who are travelling from the UK.

The flights have now been booked, Delta BUF-MCO Aug 5-16, not direct flights but $286 return was a good price. Villa has been booked too. A nice 5 bedroom, pool home for us all to stay in.

I think I currently have car rental booked with three different companies but am still checking the prices regularly to get the best deal

We have booked our tickets for Discovery Cove and can't wait to do that again.

So now all I have to do is wait and plan, and plan and oh yes, plan some more!!

We are booked at AKL August 24th - September 1st and then I'm going on to Oklahoma to see friends. Never stayed at AKL before, I prefer the Epcot location hotels but price swung it on this one but it'll be good to try somewhere different. Flights are all sorted too, just waiting for the magic 180 days to book ADRs.

End August is my favourite time to go too, I love the very warm weather and low crowds.

H & I recently purchased a new (to us) RV so of course I insisted we bring it to Fort Wilderness

We are usually Jersey Week travelers, and we already have a reservation for Nov 2015, so this will be our first experience with the Florida heat. I'd be telling a lie if I said I wasn't nervous about the heat. Crowds we can handle, heat? I'm not so sure.

This will be a very different Disney trip for us. We usually get the dining plan and have lots of sit down meals but we'll be eating 2 meals a day in the RV. I hope that doesn't ruin the Disney magic for us.

Right now we have a reservation from 8/22-9/5 but we'll cut it down to 1 week once we find out what day the kids go back to school.

Hi all - so happy to find this thread!! We just decided to book August 23-29. Thinking Beach Club. It's our second trip ever, first was Feb 2014 at POR (loved it!!). So excited for less crowds, but super nervous about humidity and rain!! I can't wait to start planning!!

The great thing about August, is that you don't need to fill up your luggage with sweaters and pants. Just bring shirts and shorts.

The rain isn't that bad if you're ready for it. Just be sure to pack an extra pair of shoes in case one gets wet. Oh - and ponchos. Dollar store or Disney -- really helps!

I agree. Packing is easy in August! Since it's only shorts and t-shirts in the luggage there is a lot of room left in suitcase for Disney souvenirs

Over the weekend friends of ours decided they wanted to come to Disney the same week as us -- so we're all driving down together! They will stay in a hotel while we stay at the Fort.

I was nervous about the 17+ hr drive, but now that we'll have 4 drivers it should be a piece of cake!

4 adults and 5 girls under 10 yrs old in an RV -- what could go wrong? LOL...

And I booked the flights, so its official!!!!!

We will be staying at Beach Club for the first time. Its a huge splurge so I am praying for some late summer discount!!!!

So excited to be planning with you guys!

We have not used the new FP with the magic bands yet so Im a little nervous about that!

And can't wait to decide on our dining. If anyone has any suggestions for a great meal please share!
