Well, I actually went when I was 7 or 8. I'm 48 now. I know it was prior to Epcot being built since I was there. So yeah, I'm calling it a 'first trip' for me -- and its most definitely the very first trip for my beautiful wife (41) and our two children (boy 7, girl 5).

Compared to what I've read on these boards we are doing this trip 'last minute' - we hope to book a trip for the first or second week of August 2015. That's right, two months away we decided to do this. I've done as much planning as my DISnoob brain will allow (for today) and would love ppl's input on our initial thoughts.

Why so soon? Why not delay and plan 2-5 years out like everyone else? To make a long story short, we found out 12 weeks ago that we are expecting our third child - quite UNexpectedly. #birthcontrolfail

After an initial period of shock/disbelief/denial, we have accepted this wonderful blessing and couldn't be happier to welcome her (we found that part our last week!) to our family. The due date is October 19, 2015. Our kids of course are THRILLED.

Soooo.... I'm having a good year at work this year and was going to plan our first family (just us) vacation in several years to the S.C. coast. But my bride had other ideas - Disney World has been a dream and goal of hers for years and she wants to take our children before the baby is born and we are faced with a couple of years of babyworld again.

How could I refuse a woman with a goal and a dream? Much less a pregnant one with her eyes on the prize. :magnify:

So I started researching. WOW. Little did I realize the depth of information, advice, experience, passion, dedication and detail that exists across the internet regarding the WDW experience from soup to nuts. It's been overwhelming.

Here's where we stand to date. One failed travel agent experience later (took over a week 2x to respond to my request for quotes), I am working with the helpful folks at Small World Vacations to book after doing LOTS of reading. Based on our budget, we've narrowed it down to 6 days, 5 nights either the first or second week in August at either CBR or POR.

I'm 6'4" and a full size bed will NOT work for me, so we've effectively ruled out the Values. We flirted with the idea of WL but the savings and redeployment of said savings to food/souvenirs/etc. pushed us toward the Moderates. We feel the stimulus of all four parks will be plenty of theming for the kids and are sure they will enjoy the amenities of CBR or POR. We will skip the Park Hopper and do the middle tier Dining Plan.

So - I think that's enough info to start soliciting feedback to start. We plan to book (7 day hold) tomorrow, and then it's on to FP+, dining reservations, and iteneraries - and we'll need all the advice we can get!!

WDW HERE WE COME!!!!! :smickey:
