August 2015 Car Rental Rate Watch

Yeah- Aug 1-8 here and nothing less than $300, still.

I agree! We are August 9-22 and the rates have done nothing but go up! I still have hope though.

I know the feeling. August 15th to the 29th and the rates have done nothing as well but have gone up!

Yep, I'm in the same boat. Going Aug 3-8th for a quick trip with my mom and sister. Rates are only moving upward! Sigh. I'm TRYING to be patient.

Does anyone have an Alamo coupon that doesn't require a Saturday rental???
The "free upgrades" coupons don't benefit me right now because the booking I currently have is for a premium because it was cheaper than lower classes (still is).

Price went down again with Alamo for late August. My reservation went down from $163 to $150 from last week.

Just booked through carrentalsavers.com. I got a 9 day car rental for 8/28 - 9/5 for a full size car through Alamo for $182.31.

Down just a little more using Visa, Insiders, and Costco......14 days Aug 19-Sept 2 fullsize for $268.

I also booked a standard for $258. Is it true that with Alamo at MCO, both standard and full size cars are in the same aisle and you just pick your car from that aisle? In effect, I would pay for a standard but possibly could just pick a fullsize car. I read that somewhere but I can't remember where.

So far I'm still sitting at $363 for a minivan for 10 days in late August using the Vegas Brazil code and the Visa coupon.

Check your late August rates again! I just booked an Alamo standard car from 8/28 - 9/7 with the Costco ID and Visa coupon for $169. It was $191 yesterday.

Just rebooked same dates, same car size (standard = fullsize @ MCO Alamo I just learned!) for the same rate! So excited.

Try going directly through Alamo. Using Insider's #, Costco ID, and Visa coupon, I got a standard (which is the same as a full size) for $169 from 08/28 - 09/07.

Our dates are the same!! I just booked a standard through Alamo for the same dates for 251.67. I can live with that for 2 weeks - but I'll keep checking hoping for lower!!

I guess it is my dates and only 6 days rental? The alamo rate using the Costco contract, Visa code & Logging into the Insider is higher than booking through Costco for me.
