Just booked our plane tickets for Aug 24-31! Planning on staying at POR!! Only 241 more long days!

I'm still working on my Trip Report for this past August if anyone is interested!

These are close to the dates we are considering, and we also want to stay at POR. I have never been in August, so I am unsure about crowds. I know it will be hot, and we are okay with that. We went last July and the tour groups were too much for us. Anyone know if this is the case in August?

Hi everyone! First I want to say I am glad to hear so many people planning trips this summer.

We have been in late June and late August. This will be our first trip in early August. The Brazilian tour groups start really thinning out in early August and you will deal with regular summer crowds and various other groups.

When I booked August 3 starts lower rates for the rooms and I feel the earlier in August is a little safer than later August as far as severe weather conditions.

Oh by the way if you have not stayed at POR it is a really nice resort. We stayed there in 2012 in the Mansion RR section and really enjoyed it.

We're booked at GF 8/17-8/24. I am probably going to book a night at an All-Star for the 16th since it's cheaper to fly on Saturday. I'd rather spend the money on Disney than waste it on an AM Sunday flight.

When I started the thread I couldn't wait for more people to add on. It is exciting when other people are planning with you.

I was thinking about adding on another day myself. We do the Y.E.S program and loose a partial day for it. My daughter loves the program and we do too.

Hi we have been in June August and September. I find the temps are maybe a 5 -10 degree higher between August and September. As far as weather it is about the same. We have had the same amount of rain sometimes during all 3 months.

The one thing I do feel more comfortable with is I worry about the severity of storms later August and September.

POR August here we come.
