Hi all, just back from our big Europe trip and did 3 days at DLP. This is my DH and I's 2nd time at DLP, and my 16 DD's first time. Our family are regular (every 2 or 3 years) visitors to Disneyland and WDW. We've also done 2 Disney cruises.
HIGHS:
- DREAMS! Wow, the best nighttime show I have seen at any park, anywhere. Really amazing and worth the 90 minute wait on the cold hard curb!
- The parks seemed very clean to me. I had read on this board that this has been an issue for some, seemed good to us.
- Hotel New York. Great hotel, nice pool. Really enjoyed our stay there.
- Line jumping. Only saw one or two examples of it. On our last visit, it was rampant.
- Eurostar. Took this from London to Gare du Nord. Really excellent and had no problems with the RER.
LOWS:
- Had some of the crabbiest CMs. It was really noticeable in some of the areas, especially the restaurants. One CM said to me "madame, you're in France, get over it." Yikes! Also noticed a distinct lack of guest interaction, perhaps this is due to language barriers. I speak passable French, but that didn't seem to matter.
- SMOKING. Oh this was really bad. In the queue lines, waiting for Dreams, walking to a ride, waiting for a show. You name it, it was everywhere. Didn't notice it was this bad on our last visit. And not sure why the CMs aren't enforcing the no smoking policy. Maybe it's a futile effort? Our clothes stank when we opened our suitcases at our next city.
- Food was not great. I know this is Disney, and food is a problem everywhere, but when you're paying 12 euro for something, you at least want it to be edible. We liked Earl of Sandwich so ended up eating there a few times to get out of the parks.
- Characters. Where are they? It felt quiet without random sightings, not just at character meals and such.
- Photographers. I'm used to getting approached by park photographers for family photos, at least in front of the castle. Only official photos we had were ride photos. Disappointing.
Overall, a great trip. We could have done it all in 2 days, didn't need 3.
