Made final payment yesterday - wooohoooo

Been looking at ride photos to see what I will get out of my Photopass+. Looks really exciting! Thank goodness I'm organizing a Photopass share though - I could not stomach paying $170 for that. With a share, it's much more manageable.

Was reading about food again today - getting really hungry for some yummy Disney food! Started worrying about whether we can stretch our DDP credits enough since DH likes have a "proper" breakfast and we're avoiding paying OOP. So I started a spreadsheet on it, allotted all our CS credits...and feel good. I'm pretty sure we will be fine - we were on our last trip. I'm just anal enough to always worry.

I'm officially a resort changer, now. I changed once from AoA to CBR because DH will "need" a quiet place. But the double bed thing was really eating at me because DD3.5 will sleep with us. And it's a tight fit even when she comes into our queen bed. CSR was full when I first booked, but a room opened up and our wonderful TA was able to switch us over.

Now I am just keeping my fingers crossed for a spot in Cabanas so we can still have the hammocks

I love the CSR! 2nd best pool on property. If we stayed there again I too would insist on the Cabanas section. We were stuck back in Ranchos, I wouldn't do that again if I could help it.

When I told my daughter we were staying at the POR she was actually disappointed, she wanted to go back to the CSR. She is still kind of bummed we aren't staying there.

Wow, after being MIA this weekend there was a lot of catching up to do. Since there was so many I didn't quote everyone.

Clothing: Our last 2 trips have been in July and everyone just brought lightweight shorts and shirts. I took a couple of workout shirts that I got at Kohl's that were wonderful. Last year I bought some shorts that you find with the swimsuits, that I wore when we went to AK and rode Kali (I was dry in no time) and the other pair I wore on Splash (again dried in no time). For those that wear sun dresses, how are those on the rides?

Plans: I can't really do my plans at home because we are keeping this trip as a surprise. Right now the kids think we are going to Lake George. SO basically, I'm planning 2 trips, our fake trip and the real one. This weekend my DH was able to snag a full size car for a total $163, that was after he got one for $174. Since we didn't have to give them any CC info, we will keep looking to see if we can get an even better deal.

Photopass: I'm still debating about this. I may attempt to start a share on the FB group, but am afraid the kids will see my post.

Chaffing: Last year my DD got chaffed pretty bad. We used vasoline and that helped some. This year, I'm packing my body glide. I swear by that stuff. My son wears the loose basketball type shorts and didn't have any issues.

Here is our itinerary, but I have the right to change it at any time (I'm using 2 different sites and they are contradicting each other):

arrive early afternoon
head to MK for EMH

8/18:
Epcot (all day, with mid-afternoon break)

8/19:
AM - DHS
PM - MK for EMH

8/20:
AM - TL
PM - DTD and maybe the Boardwalk

8/21:
AM - AK
PM - Epcot for EMH

8/22:
AM - MK
PM - DHS (mainly for Fantasmic)

8/23: (ride most of our favorites)
RD - DHS to ride TSM and maybe TT
head to AK for single rider at EE
break
head to MK around dinner time

8/24:
depart WDW

GOOD MORNING TEAM AUGUST!!!

I think Mother Nature is trying to get us used to the heat and humidity that we will be experiencing during our trip, becasue it's freaking hot out there and has been for the last week or so! I'm in MAINE people!!! It is not supposed to be consistently over 90 degrees! All I can say is thank goodness we have both a pool and airconditioning or else I'd be a big pile of melted goo on the floor!!!

In other news, my hubby and I went shopping for Disney on Saturday. He needed new shorts and got 4 pairs. And we all know (as I've kept saying) I needed new undergarments. Both missions have been accomplished. Now it's just a matter of waiting....and waiting....and waiting.... I did email my TA to see if my Mickey Mail arrived (It goes to her and then she mails it to me) but I haven't heard back from her yet. I'm at day 32 now and I see others at this point have already received theirs. Ugh! I'm so impatient!

Did you try the Dollar city special deal for a car? We decided against it, but I had a $148 (including taxes/fees) for the week after you will be there- probably would be the same for your week. Go to dollar.com, then plug in your location & dates and request a full size, then click "Get rates". Then on the next page, click the yellow "check for city specials" box. You didn't need a credit card for that one, either. Oh, but it did not include a 2nd driver (which is part of why we decided to just stick to the buses. That and we don't want to have to haul the car seat down on top of everything else we'll have!

Wow...so glad I just read this! I just got a midsize for $136.59. I would have never assumed it would be so cheap! We are considering a day at Sea World, so this saves a lot of hassle! Also, we have a few adrs at resorts, so this saves a lot of time in traveling. I wasn't even considering a car until I saw this! Now to find out about the car seat issue...DS needs a booster seat. Not sure what the policy is with the airline....time to do some investigating Thanks!

We actually booked through Hotwire for Dollar and it was the same price on Dollar's website as it was on hotwire. I just checked again for the fun of it and when I click on the city specials it is cheaper. I'm going to book it now.

Mine doesn't say it unless I click on the res. This is the first time we are doing the Fantasmic package- my sister swears it is worth it. It has to be, because last time we had to wait an hour in line just to make sure we could get into the show, the park was so crowded! Turkey legs only hold my boys over for so long! lol

Thanks I just clicked on details and saw it. Good thing I did too because apparently it gave us the 830 Fantasmic show instead of the 9pm. Oh well I am not going to worry about changing it. That works.

I've been trying to add a celebration to my reservation and it hasn't been working. I was just going to add First visit. It let me enter the information yesterday but never saved it. Also I'm debating on saying its for our anniversary too, because it is, but our anniversary is in May not August. Hrmm....

Here is our plans from 8/28-8/31 (we will be there well into September but these our plans for our August part of the trip).

8/28 - Arrival Day and checking into Poly by 1:30pm or so . After lunch we are going to Epcot to hopefully get in a ride on Soarin if not we will be going to WS (want to play some Agent P's Missions while we are there) and Illuminations.
8/29 - DHS
8/30 - Going to MK
8/31 - AK day...this is also when we will be switching over to BLT for 9 glorious nights

We don't do the parks commando, but we do like to be there right around RD but we do like to head back to the resort to nap, swim, and just relax for a couple of hours. Then we head back to the same park for dinner and the night time activities. If we are not eating in the parks, we are dining at a resort that is close to the park we are heading back to.

Now that we have a rental car, I need to rethink some things I will not order from Garden Grocer...we'll just head to the grocery store and pick up a few things for the week, like Uncrustables for quick breakfasts, some fruit for the room, and a few other staples. Also I think I will cancel our Wishes dessert party to go to Sea World instead. We have season passes to Sesame Place here in PA, so we get half off 2 of our passes there...seems to be the perfect time to go since we never rent a car.

Any suggestions for a grocery store near SSR? I know Publix is not too far from DW...time to do some investigating

How do you add a celebration. My parents are celebrating their anniversary the month before and would love to do something but not sure how to go about it?

Apparently I'm not an expert since I can't get it to save, but I saw it as an option when I went into the reservation. I clicked on details and then continue and I got some questions about how many times I've been before and what I'm interested in and the top part there was a big button that said 'add a celebration'. Then you can add it and click who is applies to. Then theoretically it will save.

I just tried it again and I got an error message. It told me to call the main number or my travel agent. I know its probably not a big deal, if we tell them at check in it should be fine. I'd love to have a first visit button though if that's what its for.
