Chesire figment says you absolutely can. It's in the everything tickets sticky. He even says many CMs will tell you you can't but you can. Still would make me nervous to try though!!

I just paid my balance! Happy dance (not a pretty sight) :)
Anyway, I also asked about coming 2 days early and staying at ASMu. I told the CM I know it will be a separate reservation because of free dining. Great. But she said I couldn't pick up my 8 day park passes prior to the POR stay on Aug. 25. I had heard someplace I could pick them up 3 days early. She said absolutely not. Does anyone know if she's right or should I call back and talk to another CM? She was actually pretty rude, but I know we all have bad days. I would love to just add another day to the existing park tickets and pick them up early. DH now doesn't want to go early if we can't go to the parks early. I'm researching Orlando attractions trying to convince him, but it might be a no- go! Help!
I have heard you can on here only. There is info in the sticky on theme parks and attractions. I was leary of trusting that you can since I have also heard of some ppl having issue with it.

I. Picking up Package Tickets Prior To Start Of Package

In cases where Walt Disney World Resort Guests would like to begin using their Package Tickets prior to the day of check-in (up to three days in advance), the Guests will be directed to visit any Theme Park or DTD Guest Relations location and request Early Ticket Pick-Up. (Note this cannot be done at a water park.)

It is only valid for people with packages at a Walt Disney World owned and operated Resort. You can be staying off-property at the time you pick up the tickets. Note that if you have a package which includes Dining, although you can pick up your tickets early you cannot get access to the Dining until you have actually checked in to your Resort.

Note that since August 2011 the Call Centers have been telling Guests this cannot be done. However it is still a valid procedure and can be done with no problem at Park Guest Relations Windows.

There is a possibility that if your package and the stay prior to the package are at the same Resort that you will be able to get the tickets at the Resort and not have to go to a Park Guest Relations Office.

And the tickets issued will be valid for the entire stay; they will not receive valid tickets when they actually check-in to their resort. There is a strong possibility that the tickets you have received prior to check-in cannot be added to your KTTW on or after check-in.

I would suggest you copy down the following information if you are planning to upgrade promotional tickets. If the person in the window is hesitant to upgrade these promotional tickets, ask them go go into The Hub >> WDW >> Work >> Ticketing >> Processes & Business Rules >> Early Ticket Pickup For Resort Packages where they will see the procedure.

Don't post much but try to keep up with this thread. I really hope they dont change things and stop allowing early ticket pickup! We have AP's but my DM is joining us this year and we are planning on picking up our park tickets early. That would really mess things up! :worship:

Yup catch and release. My one suggestion is to get him to go in the AM. Hubby's was in the afternoon and the fishys were sleeping. But it was still the biggest bass he has ever caught in his life. Not as big as the muskie up here in Minnesota but big enough for fun

Thanks Laura! DH would love to fish in the Boundary Waters in MN. (I keep calling it Outer Boundaries and he wonders how many times he needs to correct me!) ;)

Thanks! It seems like a risk. I just read another thread started tonight from someone who was told its a new policy to allow no park tickets early when free dining is in the mix. A cast member posted too saying its true. Now I don't know what to believe or do!

The whole team August thing got my creativeness going so I made a couple LGMH too :goodvibes

If anyone wants one just let me know, I can do just about any image for the text background and any name (in any color). They print out as is to about 9" across but I can resize. I need something keep me busy for the next 45 days :lmao:

MIckey and the gang!

Would you mind pointing me to this thread you mentioned? My trip plan starts with us staying somewhere else and picking our tickets up 2 days early.

I would love to have one of the Mickey and gang! However, my screen name is supercalifragilisticspaladosas long, if it won't fit just use my first name, Twiddle Dee.

Or if you don't mind, made a second one with Twiddle Dum & I can use them back to back.

Either or, I don't want to be greedy about it -thanks so much :goodvibes

I seriously want the turkey leg one.

I have a question today-
Do you have a quick/counter service plan for the parks? Just eat where you are near when hungry or make a plan for meals that arent TS?
I have so much info going through my head I seem to get overwhelmed with things like remembering where I wanted to try and eat. I am trying to be better this time about knowing I head for places I want to try and make sure to try a few new snacks that I have read about. We usually dont get many snacks but there are a few I want to try but they will probably replace meals since everything in WDW is pretty rich and huge:hyper: I iwsh DH and I could agree on more things to share so I could try more.

We always make ADRs, but for like a quick meal or snack, we just eat at whatever place is near us.

This is pretty much what we're doing this trip~ I have only made about 3 ADR's so for most of the trip its CS for us. Which is fine, I've been paying attention to Josh's blogs on his CS dining experiences as well as the Dining board here. WPE is a must for us::yes:: and we love the Tangeriene Cafe, Flame Tree, and Columbia Harbor:thumbsup2. We have ADR's at Primetime at DHS, so that takes care of our lunch there. OK, see NOW Im hungry!!!:faint:

We don't make a plan, we just eat wherever we are closest to! There are two places we def want to try this time though- The Tortuga Tavern and Casey's in MK. We've never been to either, so we will make an effort to eat at both while we are there. Other than that, anything goes.

Spent the day yesterday in NYC seeing Disney's Mary Poppins on Broadway- highly recommend it if you are in the area!! It was soooooo good, with all of that Disney magic. My son and I loved it! Did not get to hit up the Times Square Disney store (lol) but will be Disney shopping soon enough, right? :)

We do both. We know there are a few must do's for us: Cosmic Rays, Sunshine Seasons, Turkey Legs (for the boys) so we plan for those. All others depends on our moods and where we are.

Which brings me to our dilemma. Last year we got free quick service dining, the year before we opted to do OOP. We can't decide what to do this year. I kind of like having the food paid for in advance, but don't know if it is worth it. What do yo guys think?
