I think we'll be rope droppers at least the first few days then depending on how tired we are we might go later. lol

We plan on driving in Sunday night, do things close early at Disney on Sunday? I was thinking we could go check out DTD or just check out the resort that night.

Meanwhile is it normal to suddenly want to buy a bunch of Disney themed things to wear while I'm there? lol I was checking out the Disney Store last night and absolutely love one of their snow white tees but I'm unsure I'd wear it anywhere but Disney...lol

GOOD MORNING TEAM AUGUST!! QOTD TIME:

DO YOU ROPE DROP OR DO YOU TOUR STARTING IN THE AFTEROON TILL CLOSING???

It depends on how we feel that morning. If we were out late the night before because of late EMH, then we probably would just sleep in the next morning and head to the parks after opening. Also, there are a couple character meals I like to make ADRs for before the park opens (Akershus and Crystal Palace), so when we go to those, we are already in the park for RD which is very nice . I do have to say that my favorite RD is MK so I make everyone get up at least once to see that whether we have a breakfast or not to attend .

By the way, after trying for months to get an 'Ohana ADR at the time/date I want, I thought I had it from the cancellation thread. We totally coordinated and she cancelled but for some reason, it just didn't even show up for me. So I decided to write a song about...sung to the tune of Rosanna by Toto.

It is totally normal to want/buy Disney merchandise to wear at the parks. I have a TON of clothes that are disney themed. Whether you wear them at home or not, you can always wear them on your NEXT trip!

QOTD: We are for the most part rope drop/break/return to park people, the parks are awesome in the morning (getting so much done). But we defintely don't do RD everyday. We have two Resort/sleep in days, two water park days and a couple late start days. The teenagers would eventually revolt if I got them up at the crack of dawn everyday for two weeks.

Oh girl, please...I am NOT paying Disney prices for my wine fix and I have not lost a box yet to bad airline luggage handling! I also pack a bottle of Malibu Rum (white plastic bottles) for mixers. When I was at FQ last month, there was a family at the pool and they had a big bottle of Malibu rum. They were ordering non-alcholic drinksfrom the pool bar and then pouring their own rum in them--so they were only getting charged HALF of what the drinks would have been if they ordered the drinks with alchohol added. So their drinks were costing them $4 plus tip instead of $8.25 plus tip....now THATS budgeting!

Another quick question, about the box wine...If we're switching resorts how do you go about this with box wine?? I mean I always refriderate it, but how will it be to go in and out of the fridge?? Cause I'm thinking of getting some pino Grigio.

Also any recomendations for a good Pino? I know I have plenty of time to taste test till then, lol!
As a side note , somehow when I posted the last time I did'nt subsribe to this thread , so How I found it, I put in Box wine in the search, and this came up, LOL!!

Thats hillarious glad you found us again! Bell services will hold your refridgerables (is that a word?) We're splitting too, but we are taking our luggage w/ us to POR and cabbing it over.

I just happened upon your post and would LOVE to know how you did these? These are so nice, I was goggling how to tie dye because it's been years since I did it at cubscout camp but seeing your creations inspires me to go out and buy some supplies!

How did you get the Mickey in the middle of the swirls? ALso, how did you get the faded white Mickeys on the green shirts - those are great!

The green shirts are done with a stencil I cut out of a plastic report cover. Lay it down and spray with a spray bottle mixed about 50/50 bleach and water. Super easy and fast. I'd spray them, watch fade for less than a minute then dunked them in a bucket of water.

Shopping for Disney stuff will be tough because we are not telling the kids we are going and my DD16 may get suspicious.

DD is a teenager and needs to sleep in a few times towards the middle and end of the trip. So we head out early without her, come back for lunch and a swim and we all head back out again around dinner.
It works well for us. I am finding the urgency is pretty much gone on our trips now. We'll still hit rope drop but we don't rush around like mad. It's the nice part of having been often. We actually try to relax more.

Agreed. I think what I will do is tell the kids (14,19,22) that "this is what Mom is doing, and youre welcome to tour w me in the a.m. but you dont have to. Just dont complain when we go back to the park at night and there are lines for things that you want to do. Kapeesh??"

They look like the are supposed to be baggy...if it wasn't juniors I might try it but I'm usually an XXL in Juniors (which is why I usually avoid that dept lol).
