I just received a 20 percent off resort code in snail mail today for august. my question is, if i book a vacation package with this 20 percent off code and free dining is released can i add that to my package or will i have to give up the 20 percent off code? thank you in advance

I'm pretty sure you can only use one discount per booking. If free dining is offered and it is a better deal than the 20% off for you, you can call them back to switch to the better deal providing the resort you've chosen is availabe for the package - double check before you go canceling what you've already got

Disney will not allow you to "stack" discounts. You have to do the math, choose the better deal, and go with the one discount you want.

That said, it's a pretty nice problem to have.

When I called last night to make a payment and check if I had any pins (I didn't), the CM told me the promotion for August will be out the first week in March -- after this current promotion expires (as many of you have predicted!). Of course, he couldn't tell me what it was! But I am ready!!

I would rather have the 20% off resort code than dining. We just don't fit the mold to get good use of the DP. I'm sort of new to all this discount stuff, but I'm subscribed to the thread and eagerly await 1st week of March. We want to book for Aug 19-23.

We used the DP only once because we got a pin for Quick service & paid a little extra to upgrade to Dining plan since my DH enjoys a daily sit down meal while on vacation (waited on as opposed to ordering counter service).

It depends upon where you are staying if a resort code will save you more than a dining code, but if you plan to stay on site & eat all your meals at WDW, you may find that the savings offered if you can get free dining might exceed the savings you would get on a resort only discount.

Ok so I know my signature says our next trip is in September, but I am pretty certain at this point we are going to move it up to August, which would mean our booking reservation will be in just a few days!

So what did you all do? Did you book your trips without free dining and just hope its extended for the dates you book? I don't know what to do!!!!

Welcome to the DIS! I am booking those exact dates! My cruise ends the 19th, so we will just drive to WDW when we are done.
I am still crossing my fingers for FD. We love doing the TS restaurants. Planning were to eat is all DH helps out with.

That's what I did - I booked a room only ressie so I could make my dining ressies. I was able to get all the ADR's I wanted planning on only one park a day. IF free dining is available, I can then change my room ressie to a vacation package & I will add park hopping when I buy my tix's due to the FD savings.

If FD is not available, I'll still have my room booked & my ADR's. I'll probably then buy my park tixs without the hoppers, perhaps tweak some of the more expensive ADR's but since I booked planning one park a day, for the most part my plan should still work nicely for us.

Other than our ADR at Cinderella's Royal Table, FD won't have too big an impact on our park plans. I know I'll keep CRT for sure with FD but I'll really have to give some serious thought to if I want to spend that much OOP. The rest I'll compensate with not spending the extra $$ on park hopping.

I rebooked 3 times for the 2010 trip as I received progressively more beneficial discounts.

You can use the WDW webite to price out trips - add 1 layer at a time (hotel only, then hotel, park tickets, then dining) and that tells you what each item costs you. Then you can figure which discount is more beneficial for you and re-book if appropriate. In the meantime, take the 20% off!

right - booked with us paying for DDP right now (or you can book without it - doesn't matter because you only pay deposit and can change). this way you can make adr's at 180 day mark. we may defer/cancel the trip entirely if free dining or a decent discount doesn't come out. Up to 45 days you get your $200 deposit back anyways.

Jumping in on the August thread. We had FD we booked a bounceback but ended up cancling because we didn't think we could make it. Dh had some training and now they cancled. So our trip is back on but our FD is gone. So hoping it is the regular plan for the mods again this year. WE have done the QSDP just becuase the girls ages but now they are more than capable of sitting threw dinner and neither one naps anymore so that is another bonus.

Yay! I hope it's good. But we already have 35% off AKL for Aug. from a BB offer during our Jan. WL stay. One can always hope for a 40% deluxe resort offer, which is what we had for WL. AP discount.

I leave august 25th! It's Monday the 27th of Feb that you can do ADR'S!
