POP & Airfare booked and paid for; 8/14-8/18

Leaving everyone else at home & taking my DS for his 16th B-day (and my 43rd )

Is it bad that I've dubbed it the "Mommy & Me Trip"

We got the Magical Express mail, but not the package. However, there was a mail strike in June and I know they are behind on the mail delivery so I'm not too worried... yet.

Yes this was how I did it, I entered 08/24/2011 and it worked. I did it probably about 2 months ago.

We are also booked for Wishes Dessert Party. Aug. 21st! I took booked it online and used the 08/21/2011 method.

I have a reservation for the Marriott Royal Palms Resort at the Marriott World Center property just east of I-4 and Epcot Blvd.
It's a 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit with room for 6 that we can't use.
Week is 8/21 - 8/28.

We will be staying at POR and would like to stay at the newly renovated mansion. Can I request this if do the online check in or, should we go for the stand in line method? We arrive in Orlando at 2:30 pm if that makes a difference.

We have 1 month to go and our Magical Express booklet thing came few days ago. I was shocked that we did not receive a large packet with luggage tags yet. Did everyone else???

I got the packet w/ the luggage tags and the ME packet in the same day.

I believe you would have to call or fax any special room or location request. I don't think you can put special request in online. I did the online check in back in 2009 and don't remember seeing a section for request. In the past I have always called to make special request. I called the Disney Travel Company who I booked with and and put in a request for a section at AKL. You can then still do the online check in. Remember it's not a guarantee that you will get it. Good Luck and enjoy your vacation.

I got mine when I had about 5 weeks to go and they came about a day a part. Give it a day or so and call to check on it. I am sure you will be getting it soon. Enjoy!!

Stan Solo, my suggestion if you want to request a certain section is to call either your travel agent or Disney reservations and have the request added to your resort reservation. Faxing no longer works as there is a newer reservation system. You can call the resort 3 days before your stay to see if they received the room request. Just remember that requests are just that, a request not a garuntee.

I did online check in both at CSR in March and POP in May. I called in my requests to Disney Reservations prior to checking in online.

For CSR in March I called 2 days in advance to see if they received my request. And we got my first choice of the 3 buildings I had requested!

For the May Pop, I requested to be first floor or near an elevator in the 70's building. I did online check-in and did not make a follow-up call prior. We got our request, first floor in the 70's!!

When you do online check-in, your arrival packet should be right there waiting for you! They can make adjustments to the room even if you do online check-in, however it will hold the line up a bit.

If you are staying with rented DVC points do you get anything in the mail at the 30 day mark or does that go to the owner of the DVC points? We have an email confirmation for our reservation.
