August 2011 Alamo code???

No Coupons Work for my week- Aug 13-20. Must be the dreaded "blackout" dates.

no coupons for my week either...we are in the same club. Aug. 12-19.

However, yesterday there was some slight drops for our week in the base amount. I just booked with National for the aisle and got $215 for the week using one of my free day coupons from my personal account. There was another drop of $3 this morning, so maybe it's going in the right direction. I keep hoping they let us use the coupons as it gets closer, so I try every day. I have another reservation with Alamo for $266 and would love to add a coupon to this one as it's for a minivan. Still a great rate. Will have to decide which one I'm keeping by next week.

Just wanted to post that there were additional drops today on both National and Alamo for my timeframe (Aug. 12-19). I keep going back and forth between them right now. I'm still holding two reservations.

The rates just dropped again today....take a look.

REbooked Alamo with a Visa coupon. $30 off, so I now have a full size from 8/23- 8/31 for $190.00. There are 2 coupons on Alamo's website that you might want to check. They aren't working for my dates but they might work for some of yours.

Finally, the price went down from a high of over $500 for the week of 8/13 - 8/20. Using the Entertainment card free double upgrade coupon, I got a Ford Fusion for $172 total. No other coupons are working for me during that time period, including the Alamo "Insiders".

I don't know what to do....

We have a minivan booked out of MCO from Aug.18 -29th, total cost $346

I was just able to get a Premium for $211 (total). We are a family of five, and will have two small booster seats and a carseat (not a huge one as this is our travel one).

Should we save the $140 and go with a Premium or go with the Minivan? Can we keep both reservations and if the Premium car isn't big enough when we get there, can I use our minivan reservation???

How big is a Buick LaCrosse? Anyone know what other kind of vehicles Almo Premiums are?

Nope, the coupons still don't work for us picking up for the 15th. No coupons for me for my Friday pickup.

Just wanted to share this......
I did online check in this morning for Alamo ( we leave in 2 days on August 12th ) , but before I confirmed the check in, I figured I should check reservations just one more time. I am glad I did, because since my last check on 8/5/2011 , the price went down another $22.00 . I know that's not alot , but $22.00 saved ,is $22.00 saved.
So just a heads up...........check one more time before to confirm your check in with Alamo if you are going in the next few days ,as it looks like the prices have dropped slightly again.

Anybody getting any good deals out of the car care center? I got a midsize out of the airport for $123 but when I change the pick up and drop off to the car center it jumps the price to $265?? This was thru Alamo.

The trend lately has been that the Car Care Center has been higher than the airport. I would stick with renting from MCO.
