August 2010 Mediterranean Adventure Photo Book is Complete!

Well it only took 5 months, but I have finally gone through all 900 pictures and completed our photo book of our 11 night Mediterranean cruise. It was tough narrowing down the photos, but I was hoping to put a snapshot together of our trip that I could go through to remember what a fabulous time we had last summer. Today was the perfect day to complete this book since we are experiencing a blizzard here in Massachusetts! Boy, I wish I was cruising the Mediterranean now. Though, I look forward to stepping on the Dream this summer!

For anyone that is considering the DCL Mediterranean cruise...go for it! My family has so many special memories that will last a lifetime!

I was messing around with disneyphotopass book for a few days and i couldnt get over how much money it was even though I loved the backgrounds. This looks like a better option! looks like you spent many hours on this, and you can tell, it looks great!....p.s. I noticed you had a background with waves, I cant seem to find it do you remember what it was called/what category it was under? thanks.

I think Shutterfly has a lot of great background options so that is why I chose that site for this photobook. If you go under Patterns for the backgrounds there are a lot of great options and they are coordinated by color. You will find the waves under the blue patterns. I snagged the 30% off and free shipping offer today since I opted for the 12x12 padded cover book and added a bunch of extra pages. I can't wait for it to arrive!! It is a lot of work, but so worth it! Have a blast making your photobook!

I love the photobook, I think I am gonna switch from Snapfish to Shutterfly for my next one. I really liked a lot of your layouts much better, Snapfish seemed to make me leave to much blank space on the page and some pictures I wanted much bigger.

Love the seaview room, that looked absolutely stunning!!

Just curious how old are your boys? I have thought about the Med. cruises, but thought there was to much touring and sightseeing and the kids may get bored with that. Did your boys have fun sightseeing?

That is a beautiful book!! I was on the August 28th cruise and I am still working on my scrapbook. I do it the old fashioned way, not on the computer. Putting together a book helps to get me through these cold winter days. You gave me a lot of inspiration, thanks for sharing. Karyn

Thanks! I did a calendar as well. I can't help but want to always peek at the photos from our trip every chance I get! One of my most favorite days was the Schooner excursion we all took in Malta. I give you a lot of credit. I had hoped to do scrapbooks for my boys when they were babies, the old fashioned way. It is a lot of hard work! I am glad I inspired you. I had a lot of fun reliving our fabulous adventure while making the photobook. Have fun scrapbooking!

I agree, the layouts in Shutterfly are better than Snapfish. It was important to me to have the photos as large as I could. That is also why I opted for the largest book. I did print out all 900 photos too and have them in photo albums that I purchased on the ship with the Mediterranean theme.

The seaview room was amazing! It had a huge window seat almost the length of the room that you could hang out on to admire the view. A great way to start off the trip! We actually have friends living in Barcelona for a few years so my boys were able to visit with their little friends for a few days before we headed out on the cruise.

My boys were 7 and 9 this past Summer. My boys did great on the trip and I was a little nervous just like you that they would be bored. We took private tours for the 3 Italy ports which was the best thing I could have ever done and we broke the trip up with beach breaks as well. The private tour guides really made it interesting for the boys and we were able to do our own thing. I can't stress enough to break up the tours. We opted to not tour Tunis to give them a break and in Corsica we did a small tour of the town on our own and then just walked to the beach. Those were the two ports we decided to just play it by ear. We did DCL excursions in Malta and Nice/Eze.

After doing a lot of research on both this site and a few others, we chose Romeinlimo for our private tours. We corresponded via email with Jany from their company and were able to customize tours that fit our family based on recommendations from them. I highly recommend you email them for advice directly based on your family's interests and any limitations, if any. They were fabulous to work with. Here is their website: www.romeinlimo.com. Rome was probably our favorite tour! I will find the tour guide we had for Rome and private message you. He was fabulous with my boys who were 7 and 9 at the time of cruising. Great photobook!! What size did you get??

Thank you! It was so much fun making it. I ordered the largest book 12x12. It arrived about a week ago and I LOVE IT! I am so glad I ordered the largest book because the pictures are the perfect size. I also upgraded and got the padded cover which looks beautiful. I am extremely happy with how the photobook turned out. I was so nervous opening the box once it arrived! I am a bit of a perfectionist.

P.S. I waited for them to run a promotion plus free shipping. That way I didn't feel as guilty adding all the little extras that were so tempting! I believe the promotion at the time was 30% off photobooks + free shipping. When the book arrived there was also a coupon for a future photobook. I will be sure to use it after I sail the Disney Dream this Summer!

Hi Lisa! Thanks for sharing your photobook! I loved it! We will be on the Aug 27th cruise this year and noticed that you stayed at Hotel Arts... how did you like it? Would you recommend it? How were the accomadations: did you have a family suite or did you have to book 2 rooms? Also, since your son loved the room service: did they offer mickey bars on the med cruise?
