August 2010 Code watch

No, you can't use a pin code with a % off and free dining. That would be nice though.
We just returned and I sorta wish we had booked a bounceback offer, but what I really want is free dining.

We have decided to brave the heat and go in August rather than our usual fall trip.

We were spoiled by FD last year. We went the last day of the offer and was able to get it the entire trip.

I've done all the Disney math and FD is the best discount for my family.

I wish we would have done the bounceback for FD last October, but we thought we would go in November 2010.

We have always taken our kids out of school. They have done well, but we will have two in middle school this year. I think it's time we start going during vacations. WDW will be busier, but we are now veterans of TGM and think we can make the best of it.

The best part is of changing to August is the possibility of a 2 week vacation.
Then we can go at a more relaxed pace during the heat.

I made our reservation using our pin code, but will switch when FD gets offered. Crossing fingers. :thumbsup2

Halloweenqueen,
We also think we can't go during school anymore. DD13 is in 7th grade and it is too hard to take her out of school as she is really serious about keeping her grades up. But it really limits when you can go.

Our christmas trip was fun, but cold at times. I had a 40% code or we would have never gone then.

So go ahead and use this special offer and all the extra information we've included to help you plan your magical stay. Hope to see you real soon!

Since you're interested in coming in August, here's a great offer we picked out for you and your family. It's the best way to open a whole world of Disney dreams and possibilities.

Save 20%* at Disney Value Resorts
Save 30%* at Disney Moderate Resorts
Save 40%* at Disney Deluxe Resorts:banana:

For stays most nights 1/18–2/11/10,
2/15–3/27/10, 4/11–7/1/10, 7/5–10/7/10,
10/11–11/23/10 and 11/28–12/16/10.:cheer2:

Ask about great savings at Disney Deluxe Villa Resorts, too!

Did you recently fill out one of those, "What month are you interested in coming" surverys? I just got one of those (with the downloadable snowglobe) and I'm hoping it triggers a pin code.

I did the saving vacation trick on the Disney site and it worked like a charm. I just went back and added and deleted vacations for a few days. Ordered the CD and updated our registration.

I got the pin code in less than a week.

It's worth a try!

No but I did all the other suggestions:free newsletters, dvd planner, personalized maps, saving trips.

Not to say I have figured this thing out but what I think worked was when I planned a trip online and DID NOT SAVE IT..Then a screen popped up and asked why so I checked something concerning the price and in the comment box I put I was really wishing this could be my first trip and that I would be checking around for other discount vacations for my family this year. I also put my familys last name and email address. I would not tell you a lie because I know how much I needed a pin...but the very next evening is when I got the pin.

So try it and it may work. GOODLUCK:thumbsup2

We are planning on going in September and would like to stay at POR. I would love to get the offer where you can get 30% of moderate resorts. That would definitely help us since there will be 5 of us.

I am REALLY hoping for another 4/3 deal this year. Does anyone remember when it was offered last year? We are considering a WDW trip the 2nd week of August.

Called Disney today to check and see if I had a pin. She saw some but could not open it so put me on hold. She came back and told me that she couldn't open it because the code had not been emailed to me yet and I could not use it until Tuesday. She DID however, tell me that I had some sort of free dining offer for later this year. Wish it were for something in March when we are going. There is nothing for March 27-April 4!

Hmmm I wonder if free dining will be offered again. Or will it only be in the form of a PIN.

yeah I can't believe there's so many and more are signing up. It's the 12th-14th. It won't affect parks much we are in classes during the day and amazing dinners and things at night.

Holy crap haha :lmao: 5500??? That's crazy. Almost like when I had a cheerleader convention take over Pop Century one year. I obviously didn't mind but.... :rotfl:

I looked at the discount history on Mousesavers. FD is usually announced in late March/early April. Codes like 40% not until June--at least for 2007-2009. I just got 40% on Yacht Club for 8/22-24 when I booked it as a bounceback.

Since FD and 40% were both offered as bouncebacks for August (and beyond) I am pretty sure they will open up to GP as well. If history is any indication probably will be offered to Disney Visa holders a few days ahead of GP.

So, Muffycat, seems like what you need to do is go to Disney sometime soon and book your August trip as a bounceback so you can rest easy knowing you have the 40% !!!

Yeah we booked a bouce back for 40% for August, I convinced my DH that it was the only sure deal. I have read other posts that say the 40% is better than the FD deal. What do you all think:rolleyes1 I do have disney visa, we are a party of 4 all over 10years. We will do a package with dining and tickets.:thumbsup2

It all depends on where you are staying and how many in your group. This year 5 out of the 6 of us are going. So thats approx $140 a day saving on the dinning plan which I know were are not getting that much off a night of the hotel.

Just saw there are 4 of you counted as adults so thats a $160 saving.(if its the regular dinning plan). Not sure what hotel you booked at.
