I am thinking January but hoping for sooner. I am also in the waiting boat. Right now everything is too expensive. Waiting to see what kind of discounts will be offered so I will know where we can stay and for how long.

We are also thinking about going back at the end of August! In 2007, we recieved the 40% off code and used it to book our vacation. We got a great deal and stayed at AKL! We'd love to get back there at the end of August and was wondering how did we get the code?? Should I call and express interest in another vacation? Is it simply random? Help! Also - Does anyone know the value season dates? THANKS!

Planning trip for next August for a group of 15-20 people. Gotta keep watch. Can't wait to read entire thread for more discount opportunities. Hopefully with the economy the way it is they will offer more discounts.

My bd falls right BEFORE the VALUE season, but FD or discount code would be a better deal. Thinking 8/10 - 8/17.

Count me in as one who got sucked in by the birthday goodies!! I really had no intention of an August trip...

Anyway, I booked today. $1206.99 for 9 nights at POFQ. Aug 14-23. That includes all taxes and is AAA rate for a standard room. Would love to come up with a code and switch to a deluxe for the last 2-3 nights.

Okay, now, how do I tell my husband?

That would be agreat deal, 24/7 but, no--my reservation is room only. I will probably renew my AP by them. I will likely be solo, and I am not much for the DP when I am by myself.

I believe the last two years free dining started the last week of August,,,or close to it....


Also, I just called my boyfriend's nephew's school district to find out when they would be going back to school next fall...and the district secretary told me that they won't go into negotiations for that til the spring!! The wind has been completely taken out of my sails! How am I suppose to plan a trip before he goes back, if we won't know til almost summer?!

I am planning to go Aug 22 - Sept 5 Depending on when school starts up next September. I think we may be doing a mod this time. Without a discound dont think we are going, so here is hoping for a good one!

I am hoping that DD and I can convince my DH to go the last full week of Aug. I was able to get Sun thru Sat at PORS for 1005.00! not including tickets. I think I will book it and hope that there may be better value rates and we can go back to AKL! I may even consider depending on the rates another AP.
I have never been in Aug before... Hope that we don't have any hurricanes! Any info out there on crowd size that time of year? I am assuming southern schools are back in session..

I think Hurricane season is from AUG - Nov and the chances are slim, but possible. Those are good rates for a MOD.
I would like to try the POP in Aug (last week till 9/5, we start school 9/7) BUT with the money I would save with AP and possible FD, we may upgrade ourselves to AKL. Never been and so want to go. LOL.

Those are our exact dates too! Where will you be staying? We are going to give Pop Century a try. A little nervous 'cause we've never stayed at a value.

We switched our dates to Aug 26-September 4/5 (right now it's until the 4th but I will probably add one more night). We are staying at AKL.

I don't know about Pop Century. We stayed at ASMo one year (2005), by the 2nd night my DDs (at the time 6 and 8 y/o) and my Dh wanted to switch resorts. It was clean, just a little to chaotic for us.
So, sorry, I am a bad person to ask about the values, since the family are not fans, but I have heard Pop Century is better about "noise", unlike the All-Star resorts.

We are currently booked at Caribbean Beach for August 9-17th but upgrading to the WL may be a possibility or if we do really well in our spring garage sale maybe the Poly again. Of course a code/discount will also be necessary. I am afraid our April 2008 trip to the Poly (we were upgraded to concierge) spoiled us tremendously. Unfortunately with the way the economy is going we should just thank our lucky stars if we even get to go to Disney next year!
