August 2009 code watch

10th through the 17th here with packages. Now we wait and try not to think about it too much.:surfweb:

Does anyone know what the value season dates for 2009 are going to be?

I'm assuming that they are going to be close to 2008's dates, but I haven't found anything listed specifically for 2009.

Right now, I'm for an August 8-12, 2009 trip. But am thinking about moving it up, if it's still within the value season.

Thanks in advance!

The value season starts on Sunday August 9th. I will be there on the 8-16 at POFQ for my honeymoon! The first night was charged the peak season rate but the rest of the nights are at the value season rate.

Of course they will! That's why they came out with the new counter service dining plan - it will allow disney to give away free dining for cheaper. The problem for me is that my AAA rate is saving me $53 per night. Even with 3 adults and 2 kids, I'm not sure I'd trade that rate for free counter service. If it was free table service I'd do it, but the counter service is worth less and won't work for character meals. I'll just have to wait and see.

I am thinking about joining AAA later this month before making my DW reservations. Do they offer the same room and ticket packages (with dining, park hopper, etc) and the ability to put down a deposit and pay off the vacation?

Thanks in advance!

:)

Well, I just booked August 9-17th at Caribbean Beach. Somehow we'll make it work with the heat. RIght now we have the AAA discount which saves us over $300.

That's our dates exactly :rotfl: and at the same resort. We've been to Florida in August before..yeah it's hot, but there are a lot of places to go to get out of the heat.

Went through Dreams Unlimited and got a price quote for Aug 12-19 2009 at the Poly with the DDP:cool1:

I have always booked our Disney trips through a local TA but our July trip wasn't handled very well...the trip itself was PERFECT, there was just a lack of communication and she made a few mistakes with our limo ressies and never appolgized...I just wasn't happy with her.

Dreams was GREAT...I am so excited to put my deposit down:banana:

I will also need to update my trip ticker:)

We are pushing our trip back to August as well. DH just started a new job and can't get vacation until after a year of being there. We're trying for August 2-8.

We are booked for August 7-16, 2009. Have a room only right now at Wilderness Lodge with AAA discount. Will upgrade to package if codes come out. This is our first time staying deluxe we usually stay value but DH is putting his foot down. LOL. He doesn't want to stay anywhere else.

I'm looking into the last full week of August. I've went last year around that time and the only complaint I had was the pop's busses. I think we're going to try a moderate this time. Would have liked to go earlier but we need time to save.

We are also looking to go in august 2009. We went in 2007 and didn't find the heat unbearable. We went to the parks in the morning, usually ater lunch and then hung out by the pool. We also spent a lot of time at the water pvrks. We had 10 days so it was very relaxing. My husband wants to go for only 7 days this time. We got a great code for this summer but couldn't make it, so I'm hoping that we get another great one for next summer.

I am planning a trip with friends in August of 09..Hopefully we will arrive the 10 of August and leave the 15th...

My whole family is set for August 22- 28th :cool1: myself, husband, DD6, parents, 3 sisters, two brother in laws, and one niece !! Can't wait

We're leaning toward August 8 - 15 - which seems to fit in with everyone's school schedules. For once I am glad that Disney changed the policy & only the first night will be at the peak rate!! Hoping for a good code!

Besides free dining at the end of August, what other August deals/codes has Disney offered in previous years? I'm hoping to book a trip for the beginning of August 2009.

We're booked at Pop for Augst 11-16, then at POFQ for August 16-Sept 1st next year for our wedding trip :cool1:

Will happily wait for codes with you all - hoping for AP discount since we get them with the wedding package!

I am planning another trip for next Aug., not sure of the dates yet. I'm a little bummed that value season is starting later as our schools go back around the 25th. We might have to go earlier & pay a few nights at a higher rate.

Here's hoping for good discounts!
